This will be our first trip to DLP and though having read many reviews and options for dining, I'm trying to compile a small list of the most recommended. There are few things during a Disney trip that can spoil my mood more than paying an outrageous price for a mediocre meal. :crazy2:

Of course in many cases, you're paying that price more so for the atmosphere/characters...(we ate at Blue Bayou on NYE and while I knew I was paying for the atmosphere more than anything, the food was, at best, edible.)...:rolleyes2

With that said, can some of you more experienced with the food options, offer your opinions on the various facilities, please? We'll be visiting over Thanksgiving (US) and want to pick the best option...:thumbsup2

And does DLP offer 'cart food'? Such as turkey legs, popcorn or corn dogs like back in the States?
Thank you! Your input is greatly appreciated! :goodvibes

Hi! :wave2:

I can't compare to US parks as I have never been, but you can get popcorn from the carts in the park (in various flavours) I think you can also get crepes from the carts and I seem to remember pretzels (although I may have imagined this last one!!)

OK, so my personal favourite meals would be:

Walts Restaurant - table service, beautiful food & a gorgeous setting

Inventions - character buffet meal, make sure you are hungry though as it is very expensive

The Steakhouse - this is my DH's favourite table service restaurant, order off the special menu though, not the fixed price, for best quality.

Cafe Mickey in our experience has great character interaction, and while the food is not amazing, you can eat there fairly cheaply. You can share the pizzas as they are huge!

Counter Service meals - we like Toad Hall, but Hakuna Matata has got some really good reviews lately so that's on my To Do List!

When is Thanksgiving? We are there from Nov 21st...

Happy planning :goodvibes

I love Restaurant des Stars & La Grange at Billy bobs, both are buffets with plenty of choice:)

They do have popcorn stands in the different lands and some of them do flavoured popcorn such as coconut & honey:goodvibes

Perfect, thank you!

Just the sort of info I was looking for. :)
And I had no idea they offered different flavored popcorn, we'll have to try them all!:p

And US Thanksgiving is Nov. 22nd....so you'll get there just in time to be swarmed by local Americans on vacation like myself...lol...:rotfl2:

Thanks again!!

You have coconut popcorn and gingerbread popcorn but not all year round.

There are little stands selling things like crepes, gaufres, bretzels with ham/cheese in them, toffee apples etc

You can get also a merguez sandwich or a bowl of chili

Only thing is as you are going out of season (and it could be very very cold) a lot of them won't be open in the week only on weekends (if that)

Restaurant wise I like Walt's, Agrabah and would love to try Inventions but don't do characters at all so never will :rotfl:

C/s would be Toad Hall for the fish and chips which we share, Hakuna Matata again for sharing and Fuente del Oro as even though it's not TexMex let alone Mex it's good and tasty and all the above make a change from burgers :thumbsup2
