We just got off the Magic and the kids loved Ian too. Unfortunately he got off the boat the same day we did. It turns out that we heard he left the Disney to be the assitant cruise director on another ship. We aksed him where he was going but he told us that he could not say if it was true oe where he was going while he was still working for Disney. Very professional!

JOhn was also the hardest working person we have ever met.

Mine had to be Vivi! because she was awesome the last time i saw her! she always knew what was going on and she was a great person to talk to. she was also VERY FUNNY! i hope that she is there when i go agian!

Well, these Ian reports are conflicting! We all hope he will be back. He is definitely an asset to any cruise. Thx for the updates!! Keep 'em coming!:jester:

IT'S TIME FOR AN UPDATE....just because the weather is getting warmer doesn't mean we can survive w/o.....pls..........something MUST be happening on THAT SHIP!

I know that Disney has the BEST employees! Anyone else agree?

Hey Rae, since you're next to go on the ship.....WE NEED AN UPDATE! Who is making MAGIC now? Please share some MAGICAL memories when you return in May (if you return!!!!:D )

Ohhh, I'll make sure to give you a good report when I get back!!!

I just adopted a new dog - stray, black and white Pomeranian mixture that was in the street and today is my Mom's 74th birthday!!! Just lots going on here and 26 days til we cruise!

It's been awhile since we've updated this thread. Now I know that some of you are JUST BACK! Please let us know who we should be looking for this summer. Thx to ALL THE CREW who had have made MAGIC for us DISers!!!

Does anyone know or heard from a DCL CM if the dueling pianists will be there in some other capacity? If not, does anybody else think we should do somehting nice for them before they leave?

Lisa Marie Smith

Our servers were FANTASTIC! Rishi, Sandor, and Christophe were so attentive to my son and made his birthday so special.

John and the Bingo gang were hilarious!! They did a few moves from Dirty Dancing and insisted that we would have to do the same if we called Bingo.

I have been lurking out there as a reader for many, many, many months and finally found something that evoked the need to respond. I totally agree with the comments on Fidelio and Dueling Pianos. He was fantastic!! So very talented and he seemed to totally love what he was doing. I think I only missed them once my entire cruise.

As I read trip reports and threads like this here and elsewhere his name keeps coming up and most everyone seems to love him and the venue and recognize how talented he is. If you all are that afraid that he and DP may be eliminated maybe we need to start a letter writing campaign to the DCL main office in LBV and let them know how we feel (or at least email them). I wrote a letter as soon as I returned from the cruise in March even before this discussion surfaced about DP being eliminated because I didn't think they (DCL) were doing enough to promote/showcase his talents.

Having been a manager in customer service nothing received more attention and was more powerful than a letter. A check box on a survey says something but when someone took the time to write a letter, that got our attention. We always seem to make the time when something doesn't meet our expectations but we are not as quick to put out the same effort when we are pleased.

It might have been pretty bold of me to start posting to the board this way. I am grateful for all the good and positive information I have received here but I couldn't let this pass quietly.

I am so very glad that I booked another cruise before dry dock in September so I have an opportunity to see them again.

Now that I have that out of my system, I have to also give kudos to our dining room attnedants Sasha from Croatia and Edit from Hungary. They were excellent. I also send the very best wishes to Ian. You would never have expected that he was leaving the ship for anything more than a holiday. I wish him the best.

Just off the Magic, our head server was great she stopped by each meal, talked to the kids etc, I am very bad with names and her's is the only I can't remeber she was from Hungry, Hedga or something. Our servers were Oliver from the Phillipines and Carmen from Romania, both were great . At Palo we had Liz from England for brunch we liked her so much we requested her for dinner as well.

I heard that he got something better that did showcase his talents to a higher level. I only hope that is true because he was so gifted, and such a hard worker at what he did. He was an entertainer PLUS!

I really don't think they ever did enough to promote Dueling Pianos as the great entertainment that it was. We always had a good time there and Fidelio was the reason!!!

Fidelio, if you are out there - we miss you very much!

Rae and Michael (your little Alien buddy)

Our head server in March was from Hungary, could it be Beata.
She was wonderful, always said Hi every time I saw her, and always came up to make sure everything was fine.

Yes, it was Beata !!, for some reason i have a hard time remembering that name. Thanks

Yes, Beata was wonderful. We had the privilege of meeting her this past cruise! What a lovely young woman doing an excellent job!!! She's just top notch CM!
