Favorite Crew Member?

Hey MJ! Did you go to Match Your Mate this time? Did you have fun? What were the questions?

Hey.....yes we went this time as well....the questions were pretty much the same "Where was the most interesting place that you and your spouse have ever discovered the "Magic", wink, wink.

I actually forget who hosted this time...I think it was DJLA. AFter seeting this show 4 times, with 4 different hosts, John still has been the funniest of them all!!!

MJ

Thx Mj....is the longest freezing, cold, winter or what?

Thanks Maleficent37 - for the update on Tibor. So glad to hear he'll be coming back, although that takes him away from his family again. We'll have to request him for our 5/24 western. He and John were wild with our daughters - we absolutely felt like we were the only ones they wanted to pay attention to - and they only went to the other tables because they had to... I'll bet that's how the others felt too (i hope) :D

Hey, who made MAGIC for you recently? Everyone knows the CMs make the difference in EVERY Disney experience. This winter won't end! PLEASE tell us about a MAGICAL memory with a special CM. We need SOMETHING to get us through this winter!!!

:smooth:  :smooth:  :smooth:  :smooth:

Thanks for passing along my comments to Roberto. He made every evening's dinner very enjoyable. It was fun to watch my daughter try to figure out the puzzles.

There are so many GREAT Crew Members out there.

Sue Ellen

Thx SE! You have made this winter a BEARABLE season!

We are just back from the 2/1 Magic.

Pairjo from Thailand - Server
Dennis from Philippines - Assistant Server
Sharon - stateroom attendant

My DD7 is very shy. In the beginning she would not even look at Pairjo and Dennis. By the end, they were doing high fives. They would do magic tricks, funny things with napkins. Most amazingly, they would remember our names outside of the dining room. We would see them on deck and they would greet us by name. They were extremely hard working. "Everything was EXCELLENT"

Sharon worked her butt off. I used to clean rooms and I know how hard it is, she did a fantastic job. My daughter loved coming into the room to see what creation she had left for us.

Hey recent cruisers!!! Us snowbunnies NEED an update! Is the ship still sailing? Are there ANY amazing CMs making MAGIC? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are snowbound, cold, and desparate for some DISNEY MAGIC!!!

My favorite cast member was Craig Wallace a memeber of the cruise staff. We use to e-mail each other after the cruise. Sadly he no longer works for DCL.
He was the best
Matt

Many of us have sailed since the last addition to this message. Has anyone had a WONDERful or MAGICal experience recently with a CM on the cruise that they would like to share?

Ok, just got off the Magic (first time) this past Saturday (has it really only been 2 days? :()

John...nobody has said how GORGEOUS he is...he did bingo...I do not know if this is real or they do it every week...Ellen was his normal assistant and he called her the "bingo bunny". Well one day another lady assisted and she gave him a hard time and said she would make HIM the bingo bunny...he said if she found him a bunny suit that fir he would wear it...next bingo he is in a white all in one isolation suit with 4 pink cotton balls glue on the back and bunny ears...it was HYSTERICAL!!!

Ian is totally special...he is a great person and so energetic!

Our servers were Delibab (she goes by Deli) from Hungary and Ivan from Croatia. We loved them both. Ivan did magic for the kids. Deli hugged me and begged me to not let the kids forget her name. I was all choked up.

My goodness...I want to go back!

Thx Donna, I feel better...GREAT story! I am definitely going through John withdraw!!!;)

Question....is Sean on the ship? I saw him on a recent post running the Segway (I think that's what it's called). He was our Bingo guy. Ironically, Ellen used to assist him!

Did you do any of the theme nights? How was the weather?

Sorry...did not run across Sean. The weather was outstanding.. every day. Theme nights...Mexicalifragalistic...uh...you get the idea...that one we skipped the deck party...we were exhausted that night.

Big John....he is a cutie...isn't he!!!! Just love his Welsh accent too!!!

I would have paid money to see him in his "bunny suit"!!!! We have become pretty friendly with him over the course of our 7 DCL cruises!!!! He usually does not do Bingo, but is filling in since Robin the Bingo King is on vacation!!! Hope he is still onboard when we sail on 5/17!!!

MJ

Everone made it MAGICal for us but especially (in no particular order) ...

Head Server: Nadege (from France) - she got to know us on a first name basis after the first night and was around every night thereafter... she was the best!!

Server: Darko (from Croatia) - he will be finished for good in May but he was awesome!! I wanted to take him home! He did great tricks and we couldn't have been happier with him... he told us which beaches to go to, where to shop, etc...

Asst Server: Antonio (from Mexico) - he might be a server now... he, too was awesome... he had great tips for us for the ports and also in Orlando... we are going to request him as our server for our next cruise...

Dueling Pianos: We love Jeff and Fidelio!!! They are the best... We spent every night with them and cried when we hugged goodbye the last night!!

Also - Ian, Sean, Big John (yes he is VERY cute!!!), and Ellen were all great. Sean (as the nerd at the 50's party) even got me to jive with him!!

We enjoyed our cruise so much that we booked back to back MAGIC cruises for Jan. 31st and Feb 7th, 2004 and can hardly wait. We just wrote a letter to the cruise director, begging Disney to keep the Dueling Pianos!!

BTW - Robin the bingo king was on our cruise but it was his last one, for good. He was going to Vegas to visit his girlfriend, then home to Australia and is pursuing a musical career (on dry land)... but you never know, he might miss the MAGIC and come back...

tried to catch if anyone has posted this yet but didn't see it:
Ian is leaving to be Asst Cruise Director on the Carnival Triumph. During our 2/15 cruise, I had seen him several times with a guy that obviously wasn't a DCL employee -getting back onboard in Key West (he'd been shopping for shoes at Foot Locker of all things) and playing pool early in the day on CC. As Ian was stacking the chairs near us late in the afternoon on CC I asked him if he didn't find it too weird, would he mind telling me his friend's name because I had spoken with him several times during the cruise but had never found out his name. Ian said they'd "been mates" since they were 16 and made arrangements for his friend to come from England to spend the week with him since, at that time, he only had 4 weeks left with DCL. All the cruise staff manages to keep that incredible attitude constantly, but Ian's energy will be missed.

Wow! Sounds like the Magic is still a'rockin'!!!

I haven't seen John yet, but I would have loved to see that bunny suit!

Saw Fidelio with Tamara, they were outstanding, but I hear there's a great rapport with him and Jeff. Suffice it to say, he influenced my DS Michael (7) so much that, Michael is now taking piano lessons!!! I have to get their picture together autographed because Fidelio is his "hero"!!! Glad it's an artist and not a jock - no offense to jocks, but piano rocks!

TeamMom011.....when we were sailed in January of this year on the Magic....Ian had told me that he was going to go to Carnival in a few months....but it was not public knowledge at that time so I never wanted to say anything on the boards. He has unbounded energy and I wish he would stay with DCL....he is wonderful at getting guests involved. He did say Carnival was financially a better position for him. DCL is losing a fantastic cast member!!!....but Assistant Cruise Director is not something to turn you nose up at either!!!

I will have to book a Carnival cruise soon to see him. So when is his last day....anyone know??? I was hoping to see him on our 5/17 cruise...but I think he will be gone....boo hoo!!!!

GOOD LUCK TO IAN!!!!!

So Robin is really gone for good.....on our cruise he said he was doing another contract!!!! He will be another CM sorely missed!!!

MJ
