favorite classic snl

In addition to ones already mentioned, how about Mango!

Irwin Mainway - The toy representative played by Dan Akroyd claiming all his toys are safe.

Consumer Reporter: We have with us tonight, Mr. Irwin Mainway, President of Mainway Toys. Uh, Mr. Mainway, your company manufactures the following so-called harmless playthings: Pretty Peggy Ear-Piercing Set, Mr. Skin-Grafter, General Tron's Secret Police Confession Kit, and Doggie Dentist. And what about this innocent rubber doll, which you market under the name Johnny Switchblade? [ holds up doll ] Press his head, and two sharp knives spring from his arms. [ demonstrates ] Mr. Mainway, I'm afraid this is, by no means, a very safe toy.

Irwin Mainway: Okay, Miss, I wanna correct you, alright. The full name of this product, as it appears in stores all over the county, is Johnny Switchblade: Adventure Punk. I mean, nothing goes wrong.. little girls buy 'em, you know, they play games, they make up stories, nobody gets hurt. I mean, so Barbie takes a knife once in a while, or Ken gets cut. You know, there's no harm in that. I mean, as far as I can see, you know?

Consumer Reporter: Alright. Fine. Fine. Well, we'd like to show you another one of Mr. Mainway's products. It retails for $1.98, and it's called Bag O' Glass. [ holds up bag of glass ] Mr. Mainway, this is simply a bag of jagged, dangerous, glass bits.

Irwin Mainway: Yeah, right, it's you know, it's glass, it's broken glass, you know? It sells very well, as a matter of fact, you know? It's just broken glass, you know?

The original cast was unsurpassed, imho. Of the later groups, I enjoyed Dana Carvey's Church Lady, Julia Sweeney's Pat, any skit that had Martin Short in it, and those cheerleader skits with Will Ferrell.

I loved the "commercial" Adam Sandler and Chris Farley did for the "gay beer"...........they go to housesit and when they get there it's this old run down house with a nasty pool, then they open one of their beers and it turns into a crazy party house for gay guys.............."not that there's anything wrong with that"! ;)

Yes, gotta love Schmitt's Gay!:thumbsup2

The skit where Garth Brooks attempts to sell his soul to Will Ferrell as Satan so he can become a successful musician.

Classic.

You went RED...you REPUB! I was so in love with you and your comedy and then you developed a 'brain cloud'.
RIP dude.
::yes:: ::yes::

I used to love you too and then I guess you must have purchased stock in an oil company or something cause dude....

Oh and Mr. Bill was my absolute favorite.

Another great one was when Garth Brooks became obsessed with Mango.

It only happened a few weeks ago. And I know there were oodles of threads about it.

But it is bound to become one of SNL's classics and should be mentioned one more time :)

Justin Timberlake's D*** in a Box

My favorite would DEFINATLY be "More Cow Bell!!!" I don't know if that's what the name of it really is... but that's my favorite!!!

<3 always

It's not what you take when you leave this world behind you, it's what you leave behind you when you go

My favorite classic snl skit would be John Belushi dressed like a bee at camp. My favorite contemporary skit is definitely Schwetty Balls.

I also love when Kevin Spacey hosted. He's usually in such creepy roles that I didn't realize he was so funny.

I also used to love Celebrity Jeopardy whenever "Sean Connery" was on. One of the categories was Therapists so he asks for The Rapists for 200. LOL That always cracks me up. Burt Reynolds demanding to be called Turd Ferguson. LOL

Forgot about Celebrity Jeopardy!! LOVE those!! Turd Ferguson........:rotfl:

Schwetty balls
Lunch Lady Land or any song by Adam Sandler
Spartan Cheerleaders
Mango
Chippendale's
Celebrity Jeopardy
Geek, dweb, or spazz
Matt Foley, motivational speaker (dont end up living in a van down by the river)
Mary Catherine Gallaher
Butabe brothers (aka, Roxbury guys)

Since we are talking SNL....how about that Samburg guy...he is GOOD....:thumbsup2
Too bad Parnell ditched SNL. They were a good team...
"Lazy Sunday" was great.:lmao:

Most of my favorites are old school: John Belushi in Samurai Delicatessen, Belushi as Joe Cocker, Eddie Murphy as Gumby (even though he probably hated it; that made it even funnier), Dan Ackroyd as Julia Child, and Gilda Radner as Judy Miller. And the first time Belushi and Ackroyd performed as the Blues Brothers was awsome (Rubber Biscuits!!).

Oh, and the "60 Minutes - Point/Counterpoint" take off done by Dan Ackroyd and Jane Curtain ("Jane, you ignorant slut.") had me :rotfl2:

ETA: Coneheads!

For the first time in awhile I think SNL has some good cast members again. It has potential. I really like Kristen Wiig too. I think she is hilarious.

To me the funniest skits ever include, but are not limited to:

1. Massive Headwound Harry

2. Schmidts Gay beer

3. The one with Kirstie Allie in the Greek restaurant

The (relatively) recent one with Janet Jackson visiting a winery and learning about "cork soaking" had me laughing so hard I was in tears.

I agree about Lazy Sunday. Dh was laughing so hard the first time he saw it and I just didn't think it was funny but it grew on me. We have it in our itunes and we've watched it about 100 times. Our almost 2 yr old loves it.

The Blue Oyster Cult skit is one of my all time favorites. Everything about it is funny to me.

25,000 Pyramid-Billy Crystal as Sammy Davis Jr. "this is a hot little spicy number" and Christopher Guest (sp?) says "Rita Moreno.":lmao:

Every skit from the Jim Carrey episode!
