Hi

Trying to plan our first family trip...we have two DD, (15 & 12), not sure if they are too old (read cool), for these events. Looking for some input from anyone with kids at these ages! Thanks.

Ok well I am a 21 year old big kid and I still love character meals and shows. I am going in May and I am going to O'hana for the Character Breakfast since its less $$ and its fun to watch the Little and some "big kids" (i.e. me when my mom doesn't grab me quick enough to stop me...lol) dance around the dining room, do the Coconut races and then I enjoy getting to sit by the window facing the lagoon being able to catch glimpses of the park as I eat. The bread they give you on the way in is so scrumpscious.

For Dinner I love Chef Mickeys I have celebrated a few Unbirthday's there and the napkin twrilling when there is a birthday is fun and the Characters really get into it.

I say your on vacation you probably won't see anyone you know so don't worry about "Cool" and have fun. Besides who knows maybe you will inspire others to be "disney cool". LOL

having an 11 yo cousin who hates not being "cool", I have never seen him not enjoy him self at any character meal

Hope this helps or at leasts give yous a little chuckle.

Amy (the Big little Kid)

Another 20 yr old big kid over here!

I had my first haracter breakfast at 18 a couple of years ago and i loved it. However, it was my boyfriend who convinced me that it was a must do while at disney. To be honest, i didn't really want to go, i thought it was for kids and i was worried about looking like an idiot. Well, that changed when all the characters came out. I was completely starstruck!:p I think anyone would find it hard not to enjoy thamselves at a character meal, even if they were determined not to.

We just got back from our first trip to WDW. We had breakfast at CRT and Crystal Palace and we enjoyed both of them. On our next trip, I hope to do both again.

it is a little more "adult" than some of the others...very quiet but still fun! It features Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale....and the food is not too fancy, and DELICIOUS!!!:teeth:

I would try the breakfast at Ohana. The kids will enjoy looking around the Poly resort, and the views from the restaurant are great. Chef Mickey's is fun, but I think more enjoyable for younger kids.

LOL That reminds me of what my DD10 said the other day.

I asked her which character meal she wanted most to go to. She said Cinderella but that I better not tell any of her friends!

Hey!

I am 13 years old and we have been to every show except the new Ohana's one. Our whole family loved the Luau, but my personal favorite was the Hoopdy Doo Review! It has some korny jokes but it has great food!!! The actors/actresses are very involved with the audience and can be extremely funny! I really enjoyed it and had a magical time experiencing this show!

I hope you enjoy your stay and no matter what show you choose, i think you will enjoy it one way or another! :smooth:

To all who responded, I just have to get the DD's to read this thread and see that this is not so UNCOOL. I can't wait!!!
