Favorite Candy Animal from Miyuki

I think the Dragons are the most impressive.

Okay, I am really ashamed to say (having lived here for 3 years and visiting the parks a lot).... that we have never seen this in Japan. We had our first Kaki Gori on Friday. I have a hard time getting DD to spend too much time in the WS, but stuff like this is making it easier! On the upside, it is stuff like this that keeps the MAGIC alive, and helps to always find new things to explore!

Those candy creations look amazing - thanks for posting your pics, guys! :thumbsup2

We are hoping to catch one of her shows later this year!

She is also great about noticing who is there waiting for her to arrive and making sure she makes their creations before others who arrive later. So, best bet, arrive in front of the store in Japan (there will be an empty cart there waiting for her) about 10 minutes before show time.

I got a pig. :) Sorry it's kind of hard to see through the plastic bag.

My kids saw this on a disney DVD I bought and can't wait to go in October to try and get candies, the monkey and dragon are very cool, thanks for posting all the pics,

Thanks for the tip! I'm all about getting to things a little early to avoid the "rush'!!!!

Still, I've never noticed her or seen the cart. I guess I have been distracted! We heard the drummers and saw the story teller the other day, my mind was focused on finding the Kaki Gori stand!!!! Again - how did I never notice it before? There's a sign in the middle of the walkway - I guess never in the need of a snack at that moment!

I've never seen the cart either!! I'm really excited to witness this. Like makinorlando, I've been numerous times and I must have been in a sushi induced haze and walked right past her! I'll be sure to check it out, thanks for all the pictures everyone, keep them coming!

Dragon.

I love watching her work. Especially when she does the wings of a bird. It's amazing the way they effortlessly take shape. One time they had her bio out on her table. She is one of very few candy makers in Japan and if I remember correctly she is the only woman.

We try to catch the show every trip. I do make my son aware that he will not get a candy every time. That there are kids there, who this might be their only trip to DW in their life and that he needs to let others get some of the magic.

What really saddens me is when I see people get nasty with her. One time there was a mom and dad that started an argument with her. She tried to be nice but they kept insisting that everyone in their family (4 kids as well as the mom and dad) should get a candy and that they were next. You could see Miyuki getting mad and then started to ignore the lady.

You know I can understand a parent wanting all their children to get a candy but they should realize that it might not happen. The parent needs to explain to the kids that maybe one or none of them will be called on. And if you do want all your kids to get one then plan to attend several shows. Showing up early to get a space right in front of the cart. I think Miyuki recognizes the person smack dab in the front came early and waited for her show to start and makes sure that person gets one.

We watched her make a "Simba" in January, the drum guys were performing in the background so she was hard to hear, but the lion when done was amazing.

Does anyone have a picture to post of a monkey that she has made? I am intrigued to see what those look like. :woohoo:

I love to listen to her talk while she is making the candy.
shes an awesome lady.

We have never managed to be there when she was. It was always her off day! We plan on 3 Epcot days next trip, so hopefully we'll get lucky!! :sunny:

I know I saw her on one of my trips but I can't remember which. Hopefully I'll get to see it this time. I liked that video - really cool!

Someone said to grab a schedule in the morning of when the steet performers are performing. Does anyone know where I can get this? Also is there a site where I can see a list of the different performers at Epcot? Thanks.

The "Times Guide and New Information" Sheets can be found at the entrance to all the parks along with the maps.

Here are the ones my daughters got the last time we were there... they got an Elephant & a Giraffe...

That list the entertainment at all of the parks. It is updated every Saturday night. You can get an idea of who is there and when
