Anyone have any good cake pop and coating recipes? I have this cake pop maker that I got a few months ago but have never used. I was thinking that my son's birthday party would be the perfect event to finally use it for. I would love to create some different pops for the kids and use those as favors instead of buying junk that they will never use.

I've only made these a few times, but my mom uses a homemade brownie recipe to make pops with and they are awesome! I think the recipe is out of an old Hershey's cookbook, I'll see if I can find it.
Have you been on Bakerella's website? I have her book but not made any of them yet(I tend to buy cookbooks to read but have a hard time finding the time to cook things out of them:rotfl2:)
As far as cake mixes, we always use Duncan Hines butter recipe for any kind of cake, I do think they are really good.

I make these all the time. I use a regular cake mix, with one less egg, half as much oil and about a 1/4 less water than the box calls for. I have coated them in melted chocolate chips. I usually get the melting chips, in many different colors. Then dip them in sprinkles. Make sure when you use the sticks that you dip them in whatever coating you are using before sticking them in the cake balls. My mom got me this cookbook that has all kinds of cute ways to make them, but I haven't worked myself up to that yet! Have fun!
