Favorite breakfast outside of parks

We are visiting in August, staying at AS-S and will be going to Universal for two days. I thought I would make an ADR for a breakfast (to use some TS credits) before we head over there one day.

I reserved Trattoria al Forno just for the characters, but I don't know that we would just love the food. I have one VERY picky eater so some generic Mickey waffles and scrambled eggs are a plus. Characters aren't necessary. Buffets are helpful just for ease and potential quickness so we can get to the other parks.

We have Ohana and Chef Mickey's booked for other meals already.

Thought about the Wave or maybe Kona Cafe. So let's hear what you would do.

We like the Captain's Grill at the Yacht Club. They have a very reasonably priced breakfast buffet, and there's also a menu if you prefer that route.

Our favorite is Cape May at Beach club. Its a breakfast buffet with some characters in their beach wear. Have always had a good breakfast here.

A second vote for Trails End. We do breakfast there at least one time every trip

Trattoria al forno will be serving Mickey waffles and pancakes for kids so that still should check that box. There seems to be a good balance of adventurous dishes and crowd pleasers and the character interaction seems unique.

I thought kona was overrated. Not that it was bad but it seemed overhyped. But I was not impressed with tonga toast. Other selections were much better on the menu.

You should consider Boma in AKL. It's a buffet with adventurous and safe options and it gets you in AKL where you can spend a little time walking around and look at the animals etc. it really is a unique experience if you haven't been.

For really good food, we like The Wave, the buffet is very tasty, the chefs do great at keeping it fresh. Trails End is another favorite of ours and Kona is good and unique.

Our favorite out-of-the-park breakfasts are Cape May Cafe and Trail's End. You really can't go wrong with either.

Kona is our absolute favorite. We typically just eat in our room in the mornings, since we're not big breakfast people in the first place, and always bring some groceries with us. But Kona is our one breakfast must do every trip. We just like the atmosphere of the Polynesian in general, reservations are usually available, and it makes for an affordable meal by Disney standards...plus I'm obsessed with the macadamia nut pancakes (tonga toast who? lol). We've also had great breakfasts at Trail's End and Olivia's Cafe before, but we were staying at those resorts at the time.

1900 Park Fare is one of my favorites! It has fun characters, a great buffet (my daughter loved that they had gummy bears and Mary Poppins "scolded" her for eating them at breakfast) and the best juice in Disney IMHO

Kona is our favorite. DD loves the Tonga Toast, my fav is the macadamia pancakes and the guys like the platter. We've enjoyed breakfast at Captain's Grill, Cape May and Trail's End also.

Cape May Cafe is our favorite character breakfast. The buffet is great, especially the crepe station. For a breakfast that is more laid back without characters, Kona and Grand Floridian Cafe are the two that we really enjoy. The macadamia pineapple pancakes at Kona are amazing! They have the best coffee as well.
