Favorite beach?

Hello, I hope this question is in the right section.

What is your favorite beach to visit when visiting Disney? I'm open to any recommendations but hoping for no more than a 2 hour drive from Disney property.

Definitely the Clearwater Beach area!! Very beautiful white, soft sand, lots of shells and the shopping isn't bad either. The gulf coast is so beautiful - great to even just drive along. Madeira Beach, and Treasure Island along with St. Pete's beach are all nice. Lots of fun attractions and shopping all over.
We have been to the Daytona and Cocoa Beach areas and just haven't been as impressed. Not as pretty IMHO.

Cocoa & Daytona are closest to Orlando but a lot of people prefer the Gulf beaches...Clearwater, St. Pete and even further south to Sarasota and Venice. The Atlantic beaches are only 30 minutes from my back door but I kind of prefer the Gulf myself...for the sunsets, if nothing else. Clearwater Beach is consistently named one of the top beaches in Florida.

We love the Canaveral National Seashore area. It's so pretty and usually not crowded at all. We've been there many times when we literally had the whole beach to ourselves. No touristy shops or snackbars, etc. We like our beaches to be more natural and the dunes and things there are really pretty. There's also a nice wildlife drive where you can sometimes see gators, manatees, and always lots of beautiful birds. We even saw wild hogs when we were there last week! Plus, you get a cool view of the shuttle launch towers in the distance and there are lots of other things to do in that area, if you're looking for additional entertainment. If you do get out that way, stop to eat at Dixie Crossroads in Titusville....really tasty and inexpensive shrimp and other seafood and just a really fun place to eat.

we like new smyrna beach it's about 10 miles south of daytona but you don't have the crowds. you can drive and park right on the beach for five dollars..
