Favorite and Least Favorite Resturants

One man's fav is another's ugh....and vice versa. And I have found that a wonderful and memorable experience one time, can be no so wonderful the next. For example - we had a fabulous dinner (meal and ambience) at the Portobello Yacht club. We had a quiet table next to a window. Couldn't wait to go back! On our next visit, they sat us in the big room, right near the kitchen exit for the waitstaff, and next to a huge party of antsy little kids. The food was just as good, but it was overshadowed by the location of the table.
Another example....twice we loved the Prime Time Cafe and the reason was the terrific waitress who was very outgoing and got into the mood. Next time, we got a dud for a waiter.
You just never know.

Favs
Breakfast Whispering Canyon Cafe.
Fun good food.

Dinner - Jiko
Excellent flatbreads, great filet and awesome wine selection.

Best Buffet. Boma.
Has a little bit of everything.

Least:
Tony's Town Square
Very average food quality.

Cal Grill.
WAY over rated. Tries to be a fine dining but too many kids make it way to noisy to be enjoyable. Best used for view of fireworks

Favorites: Kona Sushi, Teppan Edo, O'Hana, CA Grill

Least Favorites: Big River Grill...we had the WORST burgers we have ever had there last October, and the service was definitely less than great

One man's bread is another's poison!

Favorites: Ohana, Cape May Clam Bake, Chef Mickey's (more for character experience than food)
Didn't Like: Boma, 1900 Park Fare for dinner (breakfast was good though), Whispering Canyon

Best desserts from 9/09: Hazelnut cheesecake at Mama Melrose , White chocolate mousse at San Angel Inn (BTW, the crispy shrimp there is to-die-for), Bailey and Jack Daniels mousse at Coral Reef.

Best dessert from multiple visits: Ohana's bread pudding with banana Foster sauce.

To be honest, we were on the DDP and no dessert we got was bad. These are just the best of the best. The desserts

We agree that you can have a great experience one time and a crappy one the next. O'hana is hit or miss. It has been excellent at times and awful the next. This is ususally due to service and a change of menu.
