My father and I took my 6 year old son to Disney for some much needed alone time. His 2.5 year old sister is really infringing on his space recently. We arrived at the All Star Sports at 4pm, checked in, and went for a quick swim. We then rode over to Epcot and rode Spaceship Earth. We walked over to Universe of Energy, but midway through the ride "the engines failed", or as my son said, the "batteries died." So we walked over to the Living Seas and then to our 7:30 ps at the Garden Grille. Dinner was great. He got to be a Jr. Chef. It was a Magic Moment for him! We rode Test Track after dinner and then after buying a couple of pins we rode the bus back to the resort. We had a couple of drinks (Shirley Temples for him) at the pool side bar and then retired for the evening.
We got up Sunday am and went for a morning swim. We then packed and loaded up the car before riding the bus to MGM. We at at the ABC Commissary and then rode Star Tours. We then took the boat to Epcot, then the Monorail to the Magic Kingdom. We walked over to Frontier Land and go a Fast Pass for Big Thunder Mountain. We then got in line for Splash, but the rains were coming so we bolted for Pecos Bills for some lunch. We were not really hungry, but we were dry. We then go Fast Passes for Splash and then rode Big Thunder. Afterwards we went to Tom Sawyer Island and did much exploring of the caves, mines, and forts. We rode the raft back and then walked over to Tomorrow Land to get a fast pass for Space Mountain, but we had about 30 minutes to kill before our Splash pass was ready and we could get the pass for Space so we rode the TTA a couple of times. As we got our passes for Space it started to rain again. We walked back over to Frontierland and the next thing we know it is something out of Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day. Typical Florida weather - we had a 30 minute downpour. While waiting, my son (who has saved up $105) did some shopping. He got the complete Davy Crockett DVD for his birthday in February so we got a Davy Crockett hat and rifle. The rains returned, so we opted to head home. We took the bus back to the All Star Sports and then headed home. All in all a great weekend!
