Hello fellow Disney lovers,

I am very excited about my Disney vacation July 22. I haven't been there in almost 5 years. Here are my questions:

What is the fastpass?
How does it work? How much does it cost? Where can I buy one?

I appreciate everyone's help!
Thank You:earsboy: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsboy:

Hi bizwiz24, Fastpass doesn't cost anything. You will find the fast pass kiosk(?) just outside the entrance to the rides that use it. These are usually the more popular rides, like spcemountain, splash mountain, TOT, RNR,etc. The fastpass works by giving you a time frame for which you can come back and ride without having to wait in the line. there is a seperate fastpass entrance to these rides. For example. space mountain, it is 10am and the wait in line is approx.90mins, the fastpass ride time might be say between 12 and 1pm. You could select a fastpass go off and do somethingelse, show back up between these times and basicly walk right on the ride with usually just a few minuets wait. Hope this helps and isn't to confusing, you may be able to get more info on the disney web site. Fast Pass is a great thing if you take advantage of it and are the type of person who doesn't like to wait. We used it a few times last time we were there will probably use it a lilte more this time(april04), but personly I don't mind waiting in the lines and taking in the sights. Have Fun!!

You will use you park ticket to get your fastpass. The FP kiosks are located right outside of the most popular rides and will have a large clock showing when your return time will be when you get your fast pass. Sometimes this time is close to when you get your FP and sometimes it can be hours in the future. I think the best use of FP is in the morning when the FP times are fairly close. You can then ride quite a few rides with little or no waits. Once you have a FP it will tell you when you can get another, usually when your fastpass time opens up. Then you get another FP, head to the ride of your current FP and show the CM your FP ticket to get into the FP line. Depending on the ride and how the line forms depends on how close you get to the front with the FP. For instance on Splash Mountain your line takes you to the very front of the line, RnRollercoaster takes you to the front of the outside que and then you are mixed with the regular line for the beginning movie.

Fast pass is a great tool and very valuable in busier times of the year.

Fastpass is an absolute must with small kids. There was no way the kids would wait an hour for Peter Pan. It would have been melt down city. At least with FP you can go off and do something else to keep the kids occupied.

We used FP over Christmas week, the crowds were thick and
we made all the big rides very quickly using FP and having
a good plan. One thing, some attractions run out of FP quickly.
Test Track and Mission Space at EPCOT are famous for this. So,
get FP early and often! lol:jester:

Your FP ticket will indicate when you can get your next FP. The latest time will be five minutes after you can go on the first attraction (it will be earlier if the FP return time is a long time away). Make sure you get a second FP before using the first one. This starts the clock running on the second FP while you are using the first one. Sometimes it may involve running across a park to get the next ticket, but it is worth it when the park is crowded. Only one person in the group has to get the tix. He/She can take everyone's park ticket to the FP machines while the rest of your group does something else (potty breaks, shopping, food, rest, or simply not walking across the park in a group just to pick up a FP).

Something else is if the time for the fastpass is past (for example, your fastpass says you can go on Buzz 1:00-2:00, but you don't get there in time) you can still use the fastpass at 3:00 or later, so don't throw them away! I have read where some people have even used them the following day!:p

Fast passes are great. You will quickly learn about them, if you havnt learned enough from the posts above just ask CM's when you go to the park. They are a great time saver.
