FastPass+ Question

So excited! I'm a long time reader of the DISboards but have never registered before. Thanks for having me!

My family is taking our first trip with Magic Bands/FastPass+ this summer. My parents don't really like some of the more "active" rides. If they have a reservation and don't use it, can my niece and I go on rides twice? Or if I have one set of reservations for them for a ride and another set for us will we get to ride both? It was always nice to be able to use their regular fast passes this way.

Thanks so much for any help you can give! I haven't been able to find this out anywhere so figured I'd come to the experts

From what I have read on here, they would need to swap magic bands and then they can use their fp's too.
