Fastpass + Question

I need to confirm a question about the new fastpass +.

My understanding is that you have to go with either the new fp+ or the old fp system. You can't do both. Is this for each individual day or your whole trip.

For example, say I want to reserve specific rides for 3 days on my trip but don't necessarily care about the other days. Will I be able to use the old fp system for the other days?

I have only been twice and used very few fp so am not that versed in the use of them either way. If someone can clear this up, I would appreciate it. We will be there March 6th. Wish me luck with the crowds. My son is a bit worried about the crowds because his experience is standing in lines (although shorter) in August. I told him the pay off is longer lines but the weather will be much better for doing it. For me, I would prefer the better weather.

The old FP system was only available during a phase in period per park.

Most of the machines are gone now. You can still see some of them around and covered over. When we were there, TT, Soarin and TSMM still had the legacy machines around but I think most of the ones in MK were already gone.

My understanding is AK was the last to convert - not sure if those machines are still available.

If you are staying onsite, you also have the option of selecting your FP+ timeslots (1 hour long) in advance.

If not, I recommend RideMax, since crowds are predicted to be level 8 or 9 by Mar 8. RideMax will also give you suggested times for your FP+ attractions, so that you don't waste time at the kiosk.

mesaboy2's signature link will give you suggestions on which attractions to use FP+ for.

AK was actually first to completely to convert. Much before the others actually, it happened in mid December I believe.

There are no machines available anywhere. The last ones were in use in either Epcot or DHS, can't remember which park was last, and it was January 20 something.

I stand corrected! I just know when I was there last week I only saw a few covered up and collecting dust.
