Fastpass question

If you get a fastpass right when the parks open, does it give you a time within that first hour or is it usually a later time?

We are planning to go with my parents to EPCOT on April 10. They have not been there in a while and will want to go on Mission Space. However, DH and I do not want to ride it again. Just wondering if we could get fastpasses for another ride while they are on that one.

It depends on how many people have already gotten a fast pass.
The time is determined by how many passes have been handed out.....I believe, someone correct me if I am wrong.

The first return times doled out start 30-60 minutes from rope drop, depending on the whims of the managers that day.
