Fastpass question

I don't want to start any arguments but I am confused on the fastpass system. When we were in WDW we used the fastpass system by returning to the ride between the designated times on the ticket. I have read on other posts here that some people say that the CM's don't check the times and that they use their fastpasses when ever. I seem to recall that some of the CM's looked at our fastpass time to verify it. So the question is, do you sick by the time on your ticket or do go back to the ride when you choose?

You can use it any time AFTER the window opens, but not before. So when you choose, but with that limitation. They absolutely won't let you go early.

I'm pretty sure you can use your fastpass anytime after your window opens, i.e. your fast pass gives you a return time of 1:00-2:00, you can go anytime from 1:00 to close.

I have done this in the past.

Please correct me if I am wrong!!!

It is true they check the start window. We had FP for EE and were 2 mins early and the CM absolutely wouldn't let us thru until the exact time.

they usually never let you in a minute early, but they also never rejected us coming after the end time. i always wanted to see if they would honor one the next day. anyone know?

The most common reports of not getting let in early come from Soarin', but they have been less and less frequent (at least first-hand reports - others reported seeing people get turned away but it isn't definite as to why), along with a few similar reports at TSM.

General wisdom is that if you get refused, leave and come back later when the CMs have swapped out. Most of the time it is due to a CM that does not follow procedure properly.

The attraction manager DOES have the authority to refuse late FPs...but this is rare.

If I recall correctly, during the first year or so of Fast Pass existence, the CMs did enforce the return window. Late return? Too bad...... I remember getting turned away from Space Mountain for being about 15 minutes late. Maybe another ride as well.

After that first year or so, it seems they relaxed then eliminated the end time return window. These days, about half the time we use our fast passes late and have never been turned away, although I'm sure they reserve the right to do so if necessary.

I have a question. Once you get a fp how soon can you get another one?

Absolutely. Disney does not need to tell us in advance if they change their policies. Of course, they know that people know and would have a lot of angry guests if they didn't...

I have a question. Once you get a fp how soon can you get another one?

Rule #1: You can get a new Fastpass when it says you can get a new Fastpass on the Fastpass you most recently obtained.

Rule #2: How long it will be varies, but the general rule of thumb is either the return time of the previous Fastpass or two hours after you obtained the previous Fastpass, whichever is sooner.

Rule #3: There are always exceptions, so always refer to Rule #1.

i bin a'watchin'

but i ain't awadin' in yit

I would hate to get a FastPass for a ride that didn't have a start time for 6 hours. Any way of knowing the start time BEFORE you put your ticket into the FP machine?

The return time is posted on a sign above the FP kiosks.

Yes, every FP machine (or set of machines) has two clocks above it--one showing what time FPs are currently being distributed for for and the other showing the current time according to that machine (so you'll know if your watch is fast/slow ... the CMs always go by the time on the FP clock, so if your return time is 11:00-12:00 and your watch says 11:01 but the FP clock says 10:58, you'll have to wait).
