Fastpass Order Switch

MAYBE THIS IS WHY SMART FOLKS ARE SAYING TO CHOOSE YOUR 3 INITIAL SELECTIONS FOR THE BUSIEST TIME OF DAY. THEY KNOW THAT THEY WILL RUN OUT BY A CERTAIN TIME ON THE BIG TICKET ITEMS! HEEELLLLLOOO. Now I get it. Just tempting when you think, you cannot get any addtl until you use up the first three/hence the theory of doing them as early as possible. This is driving me a little crazy!

What time did the park open that day? I think we are going on a day that park opens at 9. I wanted to try to see the Good Morning show, which I have never seen. My concern is spring break and the time springing forward. We are coming fr Texas. So it all seems great on paper, but in order to make it there..for RD we have to be up early, have breakfast, catch bus fr Pop Century, etc. Would we just be wiped out?? I vaguely remember doing MAGIC Hours once (which would not be the case this day) and being so drowsy and pooped all day! It just seems impossible to make it to Pan by 9:05, but if you did it , I guess we could too@!! I will only have 2 13 yr old girls with me. 1 really perky one and the other one less so! I am getting slower myself:(

MK opened at 9 that day, we watched the Welcome show which ended at about 8:50. We were a group of 11 with a 7 year old cousin and my 5 and 3 year old sons. Pluto and I believe Minnie were at the flagpole, but we just met them at Epcot, so we had no problem skipping them and going straight down Main Street. We did stop to take pictures of us in front of the castle, so we were behind the big rush, but PP was still just an 8 minute wait (posted 10 min.).

We then did Pooh with a 12 minute wait (posted 20 min.), then 10 min. for Space (posted 20 min.) (some of the group did Peoplemover), 3 minute wait for Buzz (posted 10 min.), then made 9:30-10:30 FP for 7DMT at 10:27 (posted 70 min. wait). After that we took a small break at Gastons Tavern and watched a little of Gaston.

Then did our 10:40-11:40 FP for ETWB (posted 40 min.), then walked on Little Mermaid ride at 11:30 (posted 20 min. wait). Then 5 min. wait for Dumbo (posted 20 min.), and 15 min. wait for Barnstormer (posted 15 min.). Then 11:40-12:40 FP for A&E (posted 90 min. wait, and we met them in less than 5 min.).

That is 10 attractions before we went to lunch at Pinocchio's at 12:35. Granted this was on a 2 crowd level day, so this is about impossible during spring break, unless you take full advantage of EMHs. This was our 4th day at Disney World, so some were exhausted and took an afternoon break, but some of us kept going till Wishes.

I think not waiting in long lines and taking small breaks help even when some of the group is exhausted. We never had too late of a night, and we met at the bus stop at 8am every morning. Some needed coffee, but everyone made it everyday and had a good attitude (which is key).

Oops, just tried to switch fr Splash Mountain to Mine Train on my 2nd MK day. Darn it, I have taken too long. They only offer evening times for that now, which would tie up my 3 passes and being able to add on more! Last year we seemed to be able to accomplish a lot just having 3 passes. Now that we can get more, I think things are going to get crazy. Maybe that day we should just go for the mine train pass and enjoy knowing it is there in the evening?? We are kind of tied up that day anyway/our A & E pass is at 2:30 or 3:30 anyway. So I am afraid if I wait any longer, ie getting new pass day of after we do A & E, we would not get another pass for Mine Train that day. Do Splash Mountain passes actually run out? This is my daughter's favorite ride, so I would like to think we could get a few FPs on it.

Splash Mountain usually doesn't run out of FPs until after lunch day of, but if you are trying to get Splash as 4th FP, you might be limited to late evening. Splash was closed when we were there, so didn't have to figure that into our plans, but Splash is usually a good FP to have.

Not sure about spring break availability, but I was able to get a 4th FP for Pirates, 5th FP for Jungle Cruise, 6th FP for Buzz, and 7th FP for Speedway. Another day I was able to get 4th FP for Haunted Mansion, 5th FP for Pooh, 6th FP for Barnstormer, 7th FP for Speedway, and 8th FP for Buzz. The Mountains always had limited availability for a 4th FP, so we had one of our original 3 FPs for BTMR one day, or did them early morning if we wanted to do them.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE WONDERFUL TIPS! REALLY APPRECIATED. I AM QUITE THE DISNEY ENTHUSIAST AND WOULD LOVE TO GO GO GO, BUT MY BACK HAS BEEN TELLING ME NO LATELY. I am game to try the 10 before noon trick!! Exciting!! We will have an extra hours day during our stay, that might help. I just can't imagine the short waits during Spring Break. I just need to breathe and enjoy!! And maybe slow myself down a bit. Thanks again. I will keep your plan in mind! We have MT for around 11, so seems like a good time! Also, I need to keep in mind that things are not too spread out in Fantasyland!

Oh, one last thought....if we were to bypass the characters as we enter MK does anyone no how long they hang out in that area throughout the day? That is usually such a good photo op spot/if the skies are nice/but maybe now with all the construction it just will not work as far as main street and character with castle in the background shots. I have some beautiful ones fr years gone by....

When we were there last week, we did Peter Pan first thing, and we were not front of the pack at rope drop, we saw the welcome show but were far back from the front. We didn't race down the street, we walked leisurely, and got to Peter Pan and was in and on the ride with no more than a 5-10 minute wait. We also got on Ariel before 10am with very little line after Peter Pan. I really think you'll be ok. I booked our fp+ for after 11am, and found that we got about 5 rides in before our fp+ even started. :)

We noticed them out throughout the day into the late afternoon at different places. My dd (9) wasn't into the meet and greets, we just met the ones we had character meal reservations at.... so I didn't have to deal with lining up for them, but we did see them around at all times of day!

Also, remember that if your Mermaid window opens at 10:05, you have until 11:05 to get in line for it! So you don't have to walk past so many attractions without doing anything! See Mickey's Philharmagic, ride the Carousel, Winnie the Pooh, whatever. Allow your friend to take it all in by progressing slowly to Little Mermaid. That's the nice side of FP+ - you can do other things while still knowing you'll definitely get to do the big stuff!

Thanks, this gives me hope. I think I may end up leaving this day as is, with Mermaid as our first pass starting around 10. I am too scared to try switching things now. As I stand I can be done with my passes around 12:25, if I do the last one when it opens up. That will give us the rest of the day to see what else we can get! It is funny, last year I was prefectly happy with 3 fastpass max. Now that I know we can get more, it is making me too greedy! I have to say that last year went very smoothly. The only super long line was A & E, they were still in Norway at Epcot and Mermaid was a little tedious. Not sure why, seems like the wait time sign was not accurate. I am a little concerned with all the construction.

We didn't even try to get extra fp+!! Our first MK day we hit over 10 rides with only 3 being fp+, 2 table service meals, fireworks and parades. LOL!! We were dog tired, mind you, but we had a blast! :)
