Fastpass & MNSSHP Question

I'm planning to use the party ticket for entry into MK for DH and I on our first night. I have one day remaining on my Military Salute park hopper, and I used that to reserve a 6:00pm-ish fast pass. So, if I use the party ticket to enter at 4:00, will the fast pass work, or should I make sure to enter with that remaining ticket (will expire the next day so will not need if in the future) in order to be able to use the fast pass?

I think the fast pass would work without the park entry... I think entry and the fast passes aren't linked... or I assume! I am using my day ticket for Animal Kingdom, but I got fast passes for Magic kingdom for after 4... now I am nervous!
