Fastpass line being managed differently?

"I will read your free website, but with a stern scowl of disapproval throughout."

Hmmm, well, I think you missed the point. My personal opinion is that its quite possible that somebody is using their dinner tray as the litter box, if you know what I mean. Surely a huge amount of the success of EasyWDW website is based on 2 things 1) the quality of the content (which he has) and 2) word of mouth advertising on forum boards exactly like this.

I don't have an economics degree, but I think what he is doing here is not only unprofessional, but not exactly smart from a business prospective. You can agree to disagree, I have no problem with that. If the content outshines an aggressive unprofessional manner in which he conducts himself on one of the biggest and best Disney forum boards out there, maybe there will be no fall out.

I also was under the assumption that the pictures of Austintatious' family were recently posted, not posted years ago. It seems strange to ask them to be taken down now. I have nothing better to think and/or post about right now, so I'm curious, too.

Maybe I can help satisfy everyone's curiosity - in my original post I stated that I remembered a picture of my son was on his website. I then added an "EDIT:" that after I checked his site and found two pictures of our family TODAY which appeared to have been originally posted several years ago. I immediately emailed him upon making that discovery and politely asked him to remove them. After doing so (I have to take his word for it because I can't check) he banned me from his website.

I hope that clears up any confusion - here's the original post for reference:

I've always liked his site and referred many people to it but one day I realized my son is in a picture he took and posted on that website. I wonder if I can ask him to delete it?

EDIT: Just checked his site and there are actually two pictures of our entire family posted. I understand that by entering the park we give Disney explicit permission to take and use our photos but I'm fairly certain those rights are not extended to non-affiliated commercial third parties. I've emailed him asking him to remove them from his website.

That's actually one of the reasons I have a bad taste in my mouth about the current system. I don't think you make up for lackluster attractions by making them FP eligible and thus making people perceive there's more value in them. I have trouble respecting that kind of business strategy.

Wow Itchin', great statement :worship:

I understood your posts. What I don't understand is why, after having these pictures out there for two years, you'd ask that they'd be taken down now. I realize you didn't realize some of them didn't exist until today, but to me, it seems strange that you'd ask for them to be taken down now knowing that thousands (hundreds? maybe tens?) of people have viewed them in the last two years. I guess it seems like a "cat out of the bag" situation to me. But I generally wouldn't be bothered by pictures of my family on a blog in the first place.

I'm honestly not trying to attack you. The situation is just curious to me and I was just trying to understand your reasoning.

In many ways marketing research will often tell you any publicity is good publicity. It was pretty telling earlier that he brought up the Howard Stern analogy as it relates to people willing to look at something with negative reviews just to see what the fuss is. He wouldn't remain registered and active on a board he has such reported disdain for if he didn't think he could manipulate it for his own business needs.

I don't feel that you are. Consider the entire context - he claimed a picture was "stolen" from his website. I remembered seeing a picture of our son on his website a year, two, three? ago. I checked his website today and found that there were actually two pictures of our entire family. Upon that realization and coupled with his own concern about pictures being "stolen", I asked him to delete the pictures of our family.

No spite or vindictiveness to it, just concern that pictures of our family could suffer the same fate he himself was obviously concerned about. Which makes his reaction to my request very puzzling. And disappointing.

Yeah - I think that's the theory, but it wouldn't make ME feel good. Not everyone knows better though.

Just wait until you have the opportunity to get a FP+ for the Swiss Family Tree House. Think about how excited you'll be knowing you might miss SM but you'll skip the line at the tree house!

Ah, see, I guess I see a difference in his situation vs. yours. In his situation, it's his intellectual property that was taken. He creates the photos on his site, they belong to him. Your family appeared in one of his photos...that photo still belongs to him; just because you're the subject (or in the background, or whatever) doesn't mean that the picture belongs to you. You have no right to the image, only he does. Clearly, you're concerned that someone could take the image of your family and use it for a bad purpose. But that's different from someone taking another person's intellectual property.

Thanks for answering my nosy questions and helping me kill some time at work.

Ah, but I was not questioning nor claiming ownership. In essence, I shared his concerns. And there was more than one picture, so I asked him (politely) if he would remove them. As an attorney, would you not agree that was a reasonable request?

He responded by banning me from his website. If anyone has any additional time they'd like to kill, maybe they could ask him why he did that. :)

Point well taken. The howard stern reference was missed by me. I guess Miley Cyrus also proves that exact point you are making....

Rest of your quote removed as I am only responding to the above.

Were you concerned your pictures would be stolen?

Were you concerned your pictures would be stolen?

Allow me to answer your question by asking you one: Would you have an issue sending me a couple of family photos so I can post them on a website? Especially if I told you that the owner of the website is concerned that people could copy those photos and distribute them in any manner they please?

I'm just one person, but I've never seen someone post here and say they hate easywdw. Not saying it didn't happen because I certainly don't read everything here or have a catalogued memory of even the stuff I do see, but I just don't see people disparaging the site.

I see ringing endorsements here all day long. No lie. The information, the posts, the methodology, the accuracy, the humor - I see it complimented here all day long.

Josh frosty or easy, pretty much stalked the Tour Guide Mike website site for one year prior to starting his blog. He poached people from Tour Guide Mike pathetic , while Mike was going through losing his sister. These women were the ones who gave Josh's site credibility . They gave free advice to people who came to the blog . Just prior to him getting the "book deal" he kicked them to the curb, these were moderators on his site. It is all over there to read, he was reading their private direct message. Pretty questionable letting go the women who did all the work for him to get his " deal" and his touring advice is just what he learned rather took from Tour Guide Mike. Josh has a huge ego and has been very ugly to many people.

Ok - I stand corrected. I have seen one person post something negative now.

Did he ban you from his forum on his site? If not how did he ban you from his entire site?

There are always ways around that if you still want to read anything over there... :)
