FastPass Good or Bad? (Split from DL FastPass Thread)

I agree that one negative effect of FP has been the bypass of wonderfull queues on some rides. Yes, often times waiting on a line is a good thing.......but what length line? I could enjoy up to a half hour wait on a well themed queue, but an hour to two hours. No, the fun wears off long before then and it simply becomes unpleasant.......for me at least.

I was glad to see that they have addressed the queue issues at some FP attractions. Test Track for instance. Initially the FP line bypased all the pre-show elements of the queue. Now it doesn't and that is a good thing.

I'm not saying I wanna do 3 hours for Splash like I have but say you ran into Haunted everytime you miss the outside or if you ran into Pirates everytime.....wait you can always run into Pirates! If you ran into Space everytime, there is no build up at all. {EDITED CAUSE MY GF MADE ME} I just think some fastpass at certain attractions is better to help the flow of the parks while still helping the flow of certain attractions. When I first saw FP outside of Haunted I wondered why? Spalsh and Space is one thing but HM? that was ridiculous to me unless its like new years eve or July 4th.

To me the line is a bonding experience, like at Epcot waiting for the american adventure, you sit and you look at the pictures and you reflect with the fam, if you just rushed into the theatre everytime you would miss something important and meaningful. You rush from the theatre then you rush through Test track then rush through Imagination(theres never a line its the pirates of Epcot) then you rush through Spaceship earth. You actually do so much you miss out on stuff.

The gogo bar is more fun waiting for them to get naked; at the juice bar they already are, no fun!

WOW!! They've added a lot since we last visited!!! Now I'm more excited than ever to get back!!!:bounce:

BTW, how long before Cirque brings their new Vegas show to WDW?! Has anybody seen the details of that one?!:earseek:

Back on topic......yes, EVERYONE should be forced to navigate the themed queues at least once!! In the past we've typically visited in the off-season and I always felt a bit guilty blowing through the Splash queue. That said...waiting 1.5 hours for 20K was pure torture...

Hey, I'm all for bonding with my family. I bond lot's with them. I also understand the point of neat stuff in the que area, I do enjoy that. There is a fine line between casually enjoying the que area and being stuck in a miserable line. Like in the Indy Speedway. There is an attraction in dire need of FP. That is a brutal que to be in: hot, boring and slow.
