FastPass for MK After Hours night...

Any opinions about what FastPass to try and grab for a MK After Hours event night? We are doing the HEA before fireworks dessert party, so we will be tied up from the time we enter at 7pm until the fireworks end. BTW, does anyone know approximately what time the fireworks do end? I believe they start at 9pm our night as the show time for the dessert party is 7:30pm. The HEA event doesn't start until 10pm our night. Is it even worth trying to get something for the time between when the fireworks end and the After Hours event starts? And if so, which one is a good one to try and get?

I'm just trying to maximize our ride time. I know some of the dark rides will take up good chunks of time during the After Hours event.

Thanks.

HEA is 20 minutes long.

Yes, grab FP for anything that is a longer attraction so doesn’t eat up much of the event time. For example, Splash mountain, JC, IASM are longer rides

If you are doing a VAH, the wait times for SDMT can be longer than the regular AH events so that would be another one you could book a FP for before the event starts.

You could actually get 2 FP in if you time it right. Get the first one for 8:15 and the second for 9:15. The 8:15 has a 15 min grace period afterwards, so you would have until 9:30 to use that one, then head to the second one. Get them in close proximity so you don't have far to go.

I would get SDMT. Even during After Hours events it can get long lines, and that way if that happens you don't spend a lot of after hours time on that. I would get that one for the first hour (as the PP suggested you could get two) and then maybe do Splash since it is a long indoor ride.

Maybe 3 FP and time the first one 6:15-7:15pm, so do it right when you are let into the park, before you head to the HEA dessert party. Followed by the other 2 FP after the dessert party. Could time them 7:30-8:30 and 8:30-9:00pm.

Question - what time does the park officially close on your night? If the park closes at 9 pm, you won't be able to get a FP for any hour long period that would extend past the park close time, even if the event doesn't start until an hour later. For example, on my night, the park closes at 9 pm and the event starts at 10 pm. I was only able to get two FPs as I don't have a regular park ticket for that day, so I grabbed FPs at 6:35-7:35 and 7:40-8:40. I can't get another one starting at 8:40 because the park will be officially closed within that one hour block. Now, if they extend park hours to 10 pm, which could happen, I will try and get a FP for that last hour.

FWIW, I got Splash first and Jungle Cruise after. Thought process is, if we get wet on Splash, I need as much time to dry off when it's warmer still (LOL) and Jungle Cruise, maybe it won't be pitch black when we go? That's the thought, anyway. Also, I wanted to be on the Adventureland/Frontierland side of the park and will make our way around from there.

We have AH tickets for a day where we will be in HS in the morning. Normally I know you can only get a FP one at a time after you finish the first three. Am I able to finish using the first three at HS and after that book three separately using the AH ticket with whatever FP is available by then? Or will I still only be able to just book one?

I believe it is just one at a time after the first three. The "FP system", if you will, won't really distinguish what ticket you're using. So it's not like it "knows" that you're using a different ticket medium for later in the day. Just like for me, it doesn't know which ticket I'm using and won't limit me to FPs only from 7 pm and on.

You can only have 3FP booked ahead of time even though you are going to a different part first.

You could try to modify your 7:40-8:40 FP to 7:30-8:30pm. For the last hour, it will let you book as long as 30 minutes left. So can book something for 8:30-9:00pm. Also, keep in mind, the park will 99% fore sure extend hours to 10pm so you will be able to eventually add another one even if you cannot modify your 7:40pm one.

Not necessarily. They like having that one hour buffer to get all the non DAH guests out of the park after HEA is done.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the hours will be extended - my date is the Sunday before Easter, so I'm expecting hours to increase. If they do, I will swoop in to find FPs for that last hour. I'll see if I can adjust my other two FPs so that I'm starting at 6:30. Thanks for that advice!

I want to say the park closes at 10pm that night. The dessert party is at 7:30. So I assume HEA starts at 9. I was able to grab a fastpass for Haunted Mansion for 9-10pm slot. After Hours goes from 10pm-1am that night.

Can someone clarify for me the fastpass booking with an after hours ticket? I thought that fastpass times would be limited to the times we are let into the game park, so maybe 7-9pm? Can I book 6-7pm on my after hours ticket (assuming I am not in the park that day with a regular ticket)? Or are you all in MK already that day and that’s how you booked 3 fastpasses? Thanks!

You can book your FPs, just like you would normally, so long as the DAH ticket is on your MDE account. There is no time limit for when you can schedule them. MDE does not limit you from booking only within the party hours because, presumably, you could be using a day ticket earlier in the day for another park. (And, if you are in a park earlier in the day and schedule FPs for that park, you will not be able to book additional FPs for the DAH event.) But for a standalone DAH event, schedule your FPs as follows: 6:30-7:30, 7:30-8:30, and then 8:30-9:00.

For me, personally, I am not doing another park earlier in the day that I'm going to DAH. The DAH even will be my first entry into the parks for that day. I did not know that you could book one more FP from 8:30-9:00 and, currently, I have FPs for 6:30-7:30 and 7:35-8:35. But because that last one ends at 8:35, I am prevented from booking a third FP for that night. Hoping to push it 5 minutes so that I can grab that last one.

Thank you, that’s much clearer! So I can book 6:30 fastpass and hope to be let in as early as possible, but no later than 7pm, go right to that and ride two others 7:30 and 8:30 before AH start?
I am considering AH ticket for my next visit as a kind of half day at MK. I’m hoping to ride most everything while still getting to sleep in ;)
