FastPass+ Discoveries!

What I don't understand was this:

You can change times immediately after the original booking 60 days out. I guess I don't understand why you said that you have to use the 1st FP before you can change the time.

OP is saying after you use the first FP+ you have the ability to move up the next FP+ since you no longer have that hour blocking out your ability to hold another FP+.

So yes you can change times from booking on but you cannot move 2 FP+ within the same hour. Once one is used you are free to reschedule one within that time period.

So if original FP+ is 9:00-10:00 am next is at 10:00-11:00 am. Once you use the first at 9:05 am you can move the next up to 9:15 am or later IF it is available.

Hope that makes sense.

Thank You!! We had our first experience with the FP+ last Novmber. I wasn't sure how I was going to like it.

Great info OP! Thanks for sharing.

Wait a second though. Am I reading this correctly about rope drop? Exactly where do they start guiding you to Fantasyland?

You're not roped off all the way down main street right? When you enter the park under the train station, when do you start getting guided, errr herded... :confused3

The CMs with ropes are standing on the park side of the tunnels under the railroad tracks. There are CMs on the entrance side holding you outside the tunnels. The CMs actually yell out directions to the crowd - "We will WALK you through the tunnel then hand you off to the next group. They will WALK you down Main Street and through the castle. Do not RUN. Do not try to go around the ropes."

We were at the very front and right behind the ropes the whole way. You can feel the crush of people behind you. Think of a mosh pit at a concert. It is a true herding effort on Disney's part. It was especially uncomfortable when both lines (left and right tunnel) converged at Main Street, then again at the castle entrance. Unless you are trying to get to A&E, I would plan on hitting non-FantasyLand attractions first just to get out of the crowd.

Are they roping off tomorrowland too? Our first ride of the day will be the speedway- hoping to avoid the AE drama crowd :rotfl2:

I've been able to book them in half hour increments. For example, 4:30 to 5:30, 5:00 to 6:00, 5:30 to 6:30. That's been since February, though, maybe they've changed the system.

Good to know.

Those aren't half-hour increments, they're still hour increments, just starting on the half-hour.

You CANNOT, book a 3:00 - 4:00 and a 3:30 - 4:30. That's what the OP is getting at. Pre-booked times cannot overlap. But, once you use up your 3:00 - 4:00 FP, you can move a later one to 3:30. But you cannot move anything to a time that overlaps while it is unused.

AmyB2006 - are you saying you booked those times that you reference? Because they do overlap by a half hour which I haven't seen before. It's been my experience that the pre booked FP+ won't allow any overlap so if these are accurate times that you've been able to pre-book, then maybe it's a new change.

Wondering this, too. We're heading to BTMRR and Splash first and would like to get out of this herd as soon as possible.

Any comments on the availability of FoF, MSEP or Wishes FP+s later in the day?

So if I understand you correctly, when you are in the MDE app, you cannot check the availablility of the FP+ return times for specific rides?

Using your PotC example, if one had a FP+ for 10:30am and then wanted to switch to BTMRR, you would have to switch and pray you got a decent time or could you somehow access BTMRR and see what is available before you switched?

As you can see, I have not been able to use the FP+ system yet (our window opens in July) and I don't know what is available to navigate or not.

Thanks!

When you book FP+, the times cannot overlap. So you cannot have a 9:00-10:00 and a 9:30-10:30 at the same time, since there is an overlap. so it would be more like 9-10, and 10-11. But, once you use your 9-10 (at 9:05, for example), you can change your 10-11 to 9:15-10:15 (if it is available). It will not show an available time earlier than Actual Time at that moment (you can't rebook a 10am FP+ to 9am if it is already 9:15) but you could change it to 9:30, which would have overlapped with your 9-10 FP+, but since it was used, there is no longer an overlap. Does that make sense? It is kind of hard to explain.

Well back in February you could. That's why I was confused. But apparently they've changed that.

Yes!! But back in February. It has obviously changed. I don't still have screenshots of my times or I would post them. I think it's old then cause if you can't change them to that now...

And to whoever said they're not half hour increments... Thanks for the math lesson. Lol. I'm pretty sure you knew what I was trying to say though. They did overlap by half an hour.

That is exactly what happened. I was so proud that I got BTMR, then I actually looked at my plans and saw the time was 5 hours later than my PoC FP+. And this issue only applies to your existing 3 FP+. Once you go to the kiosks for your 4th or greater, you can see the times available before you commit, much like when you book your originals on the website.

Even at the kiosk with a CM trying to change my mistake back to an earlier time, he told me that I had to commit to change the attraction before seeing what times are available. There were no 3pm FP+ for BTMR (this was at 2pm), so we flipped back to PoC and got a FP+ 30 minutes later than my previous one.

Interesting. We booked FP+ last September and used them in November and it wouldn't allow us to overlap by a half hour then, which is what people are describing now. I wonder if you experienced a glitch?

If you're on an iPad, you can bring up the Fastpass+ site in Safari and check the available times of an attraction before you make the switch.

And a few weeks ago, I saw a lot of people porting iPads around the MK.

We were just there on Thursday. We were pretty much front of the line at EMH rope drop, with no intention of stampeding for anna and elsa, we actually wanted to enjoy ourselves. There was no CM guided entrance, people started stampeding and shoving us basically because we were walking briskly instead of hitting warp speed. We headed straight for Ariel's grotto and in the minute or so that it took us to get to fantasyland, the A&E line was a 300 minute wait with the line all the way out past the carousel. We had our run of the park. DH 4 met Ariel with 0 wait. It was great. I'm so glad everyone else is obsessed with a&e.
