So a weird thing happened earlier today. I was making reservations for my daughter and her friend to go the beginning of June now that there are park reservations and I noticed on my "Plans" page that the Fastpass" button was back. Underneath it said something about making my fastpass reservations at 7am beginning May 24. We have a reservation beginning July 23 (60days). Anyway it's gone now so don't know if something is in the works to start them up again later in the summer or if it was just a glitch. Seems weird though that the date is 60 days before our reservation.

I would think increased capacity means we will see the fast pass returning.

Hopefully they give us some advance notice when they do release them.
FP+ is not likely coming back they way it used to be. It's most likely going to be similar to Shanghai's where you pay per package of attractions. There its roughly $80 for 8 rides per person.

I wouldn’t mind spending that. When we went in Nov we barely got 6 rides done at HS. The wait times are super inflated (2 times) so rider switch kept us at each ride for 2 hours. There was no shaded spot to sit (even the lightsaber experience) while waiting so it was exhausting. Allergies made our quick service lunch over an hour and half. Due to COVID regular waiting areas (no walk in AC breaks in shops) are blocked off so everyone is pushed back into the walkways and every nook and cranny you would think of to sit had swarms of people gathered.

Anything to reduce outdoor waits (indoor waits are ok) is worth the price to me. It’s cheaper than paying for club level access. We would just stay at a value AOA instead of a deluxe AKL.

Where did you hear that?

I doubt that its coming Back in 2021. Otherwise why would they remove the fastpass line signs from attractions? But this is Disney after all so who knows what they’ll do :)
Just to be clear, blog posts and reports of Disney removing/covering up FP+ signs at attractions this year were inaccurate. These attractions have had their FP+ signs covered up since the reopening.

Yes that's true. I still don't think it's coming back as FP+. Covid has given them the chance to implement a new system

I wrote about paid FP+ several years ago. My friend used to work at Disney finance and told me they were doing long range financial plans with the assumption that FP+ would be a revenue source in the future.

Of course I think this was before a lot of the paid early morning magic stuff so maybe that's the revenue source that was included and it wasn't FP+.

Makes sense. Keep hearing 'going to be like DL maxpass' from people but with the way WDW tiers are set up already the packages seem more likely. Price will be the deciding issue. How much are we willing to pay for a package that includes things we don't want to get the prime passes we do want?

You already can...VIP.

Not really. They take you around and you can get on rides but it's still only once. Doesn't anyone ride the same rides more then once? An example last year at Universal I rode Mummy 10 times over 3 days. That's the kind of things I like to do at parks.

yeah should have specified that in my original post. Not sure why it became news with certain blogs 8 months after the fact 🤷‍♂️.

I think we'll see that plus the addition of exorbitantly expensive "ride now!" instant fastpasses.

If I were a betting woman, I'd say this option is coming sooner rather than later 8-)
It's a great choice for families with limited park time, or those traveling with the very young or very old who would rather pay for the flexibility than wait around for a FP+ window.
