We are travelling to WDW at the beginning of July for the first time. We have 7 adults and 2 children under 3 yrs in our group. I have been reading up about FastPass and rider swap. I have read these can be used together but a lot of websites/forums have conflicting information regarding number of adults who can wait and if it can be used with fast pass

Can anyone confirm the rules surrounding using FastPass and rider swap together please?

How many adults can wait with the children and use rider swap?

Thanks in advance.

Up to 3 can ride with the switch pass if the kids don't meet the height requirement. YMMV if the kids are tall enough but don't want to ride. You can definitely book FP for the first group and have the second group ride with the Switch Pass without needing fp for the ride

Really? That's awesome! We've only used FP+ once and that was in 2014. We were lucky enough to take advantage of the trial where there was no tiering so we were able to get all the "big" things. Returning in 2018 for my niece's first trip. She'll be 2 1/2. There will be 4 adults, 2 teenagers and the little one. If 3 can ride on the switch pass and we only need FPs for the first group, we'd be able to FP/Switch pass a lot of the top rides by riding 3 and 3!

That's exactly what we did last May! And my youngest was tall enough for a few of them but too scared to go on and they still allowed us to use the Rider Swap.

I went with an 8 week old, my DH and my parents. We rode two and two and were able to fp all of the mountains at MK and split the headliners at Epcot.

Thanks everyone for responding. this is great news :-)

Great to know you can use it when children are scared Monkeybug. Our 2 yr old is a tall as a 4 yr old but we think he will be too young or scared for some rides even though he will be tall enough to ride.

Just to check I have understood it right. Adults 123 can FP Mine train. Then Adults 456 can wait with the kids. Then once adults 123 return to watch the kids, adults 456 can then ride mine train in the fast pass queue using the child swap pass?

Can I check where you wait with the children while the others ride?

Is the fast pass queue a sperate queue to normal?

As our children are under 3 we do not have tickets for them if we had fast pass for a family ride for example it's a small world are the children still allowed in the fast pass queue?

The problem with having a tall enough kid is that technically they are allowed to enter the queue so you may not be given a switch pass for them as everyone can enter the line and if the tall enough child decides they are too scared they can do an internal swap where the ride operator has you swap at the exit.

If they do give you a switch pass you can wait in a nearby shop or ride a nearby ride while you wait.

Yes the FP queue is a separate queue and yes young children without tickets are allowed to go in the fp queue with adults who have FP

Thanks for the details. We also have 1 yr old so should still get switch pass because he will not be tall enough. good to know we have more FP+ choices because of the rider switch.

And please don't make the little one just stand around waiting for the other parties to ride the big rides! You can get FP for rides like Winnie the Pooh, Dumbo, etc. for the little one to enjoy (with one or more of the caretaker adults) while the big folks enjoy their rides. There's no specific return time on the Rider Switch passes (they're often good until the end of the month, not just that day), so plenty of time to make the swap.
