When using an EMH morning hour, are the Fastpass machines also open? Can I get a fastpass to go on the same ride later in the day? Can I get a fastpass for one of the rides that isn't open early?

Usually they are, but somewhere in the back of my head, I seem to recall a FP machine that wasn't open yet. I'm thinking once at Winnie the Pooh? But everywhere else was open.

Can I get a fastpass to go on the same ride later in the day?

Yes, because you can come back anytime after your return time, even if it's after your FP return "window." A few people have reported having difficulty doing this at some of the busiest attractions, like Soarin', but I've never had a problem. And we are almost always way beyond our return window--the kids and I get up early and hit the parks while dh sleeps in. We collect FP's for use later in the day, when lazybones finally manages to get out of bed. So not only are we beyond our window, but we usually have several different times on our FP's. Sounds complicated, but it works well for us.

Can I get a fastpass for one of the rides that isn't open early?

No. I've never seen a FP machine open if an attraction isn't open.

What is an EMH?

Extra Magic Hour. In the mornings, a park will open one hour earlier than scheduled opening for resort guests only. In the evenings, a park will stay open three hours later than scheduled closing for resort guests only. Some people love 'em, some people hate 'em, but that's what they are. Dates are listed on Disney's calendars 6 months in advance (but are subject to change).

I would like to expound on the EMH question. What are some people experiences with the Late EMH...open 3 hours after park closes....on some post people have said it was way too crowded and others have said it was great....have not heard much on this. We will be in the world June 12 thru 18th....I know it will be hot and would like to use the evening EMH but would like to some other peoples experiences that have used it. On vacation not really early morning people.

Any help would be great.:cool1:

We've had it both ways--terrific and terrible. AK was great, but it went from 5-8, while all the other parks were still open. Epcot and MK we've had good nights and bad nights. MGM was a nightmare--30 minute line (in the rain) just to get the wristbands, then another 30 minute line waiting for the RnRC EMH fastpass line to open up, then an hour and a half wait for our fastpass window to open up.

Even if it's crowded and you don't get a whole lot of rides in, it's still nice to be able to be in the parks after dark, when it's cooler and all the lights are on. My dh swears the parks are more magical after dark!
