Staying in BC next week and arriving mid-day - what is the fastest way to get to MK in the middle of the afternoon from BC? (I have an AP.)

Walk through Epcot to monorail at front gate?

Or take bus from BC to MK?

Can't wait for every Disney minute!

In our experience having done both the bus is faster.

I always walked through Epcot, it’s not faster but I hate waiting for the bus and feelmas if I’m getting somewhere when I’m moving. Plus, I go during food and wine and will stop at a couple of booths on my way! Also, Epcot is my favourite park so I love the walk through.

Bus should be faster. Going through Epcot you have to go through security, wait for monorail to TTC then transfer over to Express monorail to go to MK. Then it’s MK security again I think ( I know the resort monorail you go through security at the resorts so you don’t have to do it again at MK. Not sure about Express monorail)

You can see the bus times for your resort in the MDE now. So you have an ideal when the bus is showing up.

You’d only go through security once when walking through Epcot to get to MK - at the IG entrance. You never leave the security ‘bubble’ when exiting Epcot at the main entrance, getting on the Epcot monorail, then transferring to either the Express or Resort monorail to get to MK. If you were to leave the TTC grounds or get off at a resort, you would have left the ‘bubble’ and need to be screened again before re-boarding the monorail.

The same cannot be said when going back to Epcot given the current security configuration at the Epcot main entrance.

While the scenic trip from BC can be an interesting way: Security at IG, walking all the way through Epcot. Next the Monorail, when you get to the TTC, you can choose to switch Another Monorail (Resort or MK direct), or Ferry if they are running.

If you want the fastest bus take the short walk to the YC bus stop. Bus pickup is YC first followed by a stop at BC.

Respectfully, boarding at YC makes it not the fastest. You have the return ride and boarding time baxck at BC.

You get a better choice of seats, though.
My sister had to use an ECV on our trip and it would have been much quicker if we knew this info ahead of time. We had to wait for 3 busses to AK and missed our fast pass.

A couple of years ago my daughter and I were in Epcot and wanted to go to MK and Disney was trying out an express bus service where you would go backstage out of Epcot, get on the bus to MK, and enter through backstage in MK, without ever having to go through security. It was planned to be a paid service but as they were trying it out it was free for us, and it was great! Unfortunately they decided to discontinue this for some reason. (Not helpful to you I know, but your question reminded me of this helpful but brief transportation option).

It apparently stopped because people would pay and then if there was inclement weather they would not run it because there was not a proper covered area for CM's ro stand. To me they should have built some shelters and this could have continued. They also should have planned for inclement weather situations in the first place. It is Florida where as much as its sunny it can suddenly be thundering...

Disney. BUs transport is free and un beatable. We always use the bus transport.
