Fast Passes for the First Time

I'm making Fast Pass reservations for the first time tonight and now I'm much more nervous about it than I thought I'd be. I just don't want to make the wrong choices. I know that you really shouldn't waste FPs on shows like Festival of the Lion King. I know the hard ones to get are Mine Train, Toy Story Mania, and Anna and Elsa. Are there any attractions that anyone suggests that I MUST Fast Pass? We are going 9/28-10/8 and doing all four parks (eight day tickets plus MNSSHP).

Go see Mesaboy2 thread about fast pass strategies. It gives you all the info you need. You are right those are the FP to get. Depending on what you want to ride maybe ToT or RnR. Maybe one of the mountains at MK.

As well as those mentioned before, good ones for FP are Jungle Cruise & Peter Pan at MK, Soarin' or Test Track at Epcot

Judging from my experience the night before last, don't worry about TSMM. Focus on MK first and foremost. A&E, the parades, and SDMT are the top priority. Then Epcot if you want specific (especially early) times. DHS and AK were a toss-up. I booked two days of FP+ for both and got the exact times I was going for one day apiece and pretty darn close on the other.

Definitely book when your window opens. If I had waited until over 15 hours later when Disney sent me an e-mail reminding me to make FP+ reservations, I would have completely missed out on a couple of things I wanted.

My best advice to you, in addition to prioritize your park days as specified above, would be take whatever the first option presented is (assuming it has the experiences you requested) and then modify times. I think a lot of people waste time clicking through all the options. Don't make that mistake; modifying is quick and easy as long as there's availability of course. Just remember that your times can overlap!

Captain EO.

j/k :)

I'd say Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Soarin', and Test Track. You can't do Soarin' and TT on the same day, however, unless one is your 4th FP. Even in that case, those are usually gone by that time.

I just booked my FPs for the second week of September last week, so I was within the 60 day window already.
I got everything I wanted with decent times, except 7DMT. I also noticed that A&E wasn't available (luckily it isn't something we want) or parade viewing (we don't usually watch).
I managed to go back and get 7DMT a few days later, but it's not a time I prefer, so I'm hoping something else will pop up.

I actually got FOLK FPs, because we don't need EE or Dinosaur ones (not really planning on riding either).

So definitely focus on your MK days first. If you're planning 2 days in each of the other parks, then you'll probably have no trouble splitting the headliners and getting FPs for everything you want.

Depends on the park. MK A&E, 7DMT, Peter Pan. AK EE, KRR, Safari. Epcot Soarin or TT. HS Toy Story Mania, ToT, Rockin Roller Coaster.
Thats not to say you can't use them on anything else. We got 1 A&E and several 7DMT so we also did days using FP on the 3 mountains at MK. We also got a FP for Enchanted Tales but only because we want to do it between BBB and dinner at CRT and don't want to take the risk of a wait. So it really depends on how much time at each park you have and what you must do list is.
