We are going to be a WDW in a couple of weeks with a two year old that turns three the end of next month. I am under the understanding that she doesn't need a ticket to enter the park. My question is will she be able to get on the fast pass rides with the rest of us even though she has no ticket? She is 41" tall so she can ride most rides that have FP. Thanks for the help.

She should have no problem with most of the rides with no height restrictions but those rides that do have a height restriction I can't answer. We have been numerous times when our dd was under 3 and she just went right on with us(buzz lightyear, winnie the pooh, peter pan, fantasmic-rides or attractions with fast passes) so I know it is possible, I just can't answer for the "bigger" rides.

When we were there in Jan. 07/ 08 they never looked at our DS (he was 2 the first time and about to turn 3 the next time) when we entered the FP lines. I think they just knew he was under the age. He didn't have a Key to the World to scan anyways b/c he was under 3. Make sense?? Have fun and enjoy!! Also, you may want to make sure she understands the concept of measuring at the rides by making a makeshift measuring post. My ds was not cooperative at the measuring posts and wiggled and squirmed and they wouldn't let him on Soarin b/c he wouldn't measure correctly...grr!! He was tall enough but wouldn't stand up straigh and get measured. I think it scared him. Anyways...just a word from the wise!! :thumbsup2

Nope, they will not require her to have a FP for a ride, even one w/ a height requirement.:)

But just to note - if she is too short for the attraction, she will not even be allowed in the queue with you.

It this true?????? If it is we are in trouble. I thought you could have your small child stand in line with you and then do a rider swap????:confused3 IF they can't stand in line with you what is the purpose of even having a rider swap availible? There wolud be not child there to swap off!!!!

The new way to swap (since they started Fastpasses) is they give out a Rider Switch (Fast)pass at the entrance to the ride and then one parent rides however they chose to (standby or Fastpass - with a Fastpass you picked up) and then when they are done, the second parent rides with the Rider Switch pass through the Fastpass line.

This way the second parent who is watching the child can go do something else or wait outside and relax.

Also, the Rider Switch Fastpass is good all day for up to 3 guests so that second parent could ride anytime later that day.

Star Tours still has you swap at the loading area.

As the previous poster said, it's all done at the beginning. Still the same thing but with lots more freedom. And, Disney doesn't have to worry about a family that gets up to the loading area and makes up some story about how the child was at the height requirement back at the entrance. AND the child knows from the very beginning that he/she is not going to ride the attraction.

WOW I am so glad I read this thread. I didn't know about the new way they are doing child swap. Thank goodness!!! I have been worried about this since I planned my trip because DD is 2 1/2 and there are definitely some rides that we will be doing the child swap on so that my husband and myself and my oldest DD(8) can ride some of the *bigger* rides...like Soarin'. And the only thing I could imagine was my little one screaming at the child swap area because she sees mommy or daddy getting on a ride and she wants to go too!! Now I feel much better, we can do something else and keep her entertained! WOO HOO!!! LOL

I hope I'm not mistaken but I am almost 100% positive that some of our "parent swap" fast passes were good for a range of days...usually two or three days. We found it was a way better deal to get a parent swap rather than a fast pass b/c it didn't have a set time you have to return to ride. We also got a reg. fast pass but wound up wasting some of them b/c the parent swap was easier to use. I may get flamed for this but there were a few rides that I would get a Parent Swap ticket and then a bit later my dh would get one...then we both had the better tickets. Make sense??
