Fast Pass Runner Question

FP = a pocket of fun! LOVE IT!!!!! I'm going to start calling it that. Originally said by Plantlady, I hope I can remember to give you your due each time. Oh man, instead of FP on my notes I'll start writing PoF. Hey wait...FP, PoF? As my son would say, "they match"!:upsidedow

:rotfl: Love it!

Fast Pass = Fun Pocket. :thumbsup2

Wait, that sounds a little double entendred. :scratchin I can just see DH waggling his eyebrows and saying to me, "Hey, baby, wanna see my Fun Pocket?"

Several times this trip I noticed CMs stopping people from jumping ropes to get to their family. So you might be able to, but you also might have to stop and explain. I don't think they were stopped entirely but it seems they are trying to stop this because I kept seeing it. Personally, I don't mind if it is only one person.

Also, we went on Nemo first thing in the morning. We were by no means first in the park or Nemo but the line kept moving along pretty good so I'm glad I didn't run and get a FP for Space. We never had a runner but got them together. It just seemed that most lines went fast and soon we found ourselves thinking we should get a FP but we didn't know for what because we had done things so much.

One thing about FP runners I did not see mentioned here is "energy conservation". Not for society, but for kids. :) I am a high energy person who walks 30 miles a week for exercise. I like it. When I am the runner it saves my kids' legs so we can have more park hours late in the day.

Here are some tips for runners:

1. Rides - If there is a ride you do not want to do, that is a great time to get your FPs. I do all rides at DLR - except Star Tours. If my kids want to ride Star Tours, I try to time it for a FP pickup window so I can get FPs while they are riding.

2. Bathroom breaks - Family bathroom breaks can take awhile. Great time to get FPs if nature is not calling for you personally

3. Meals - For counter service restaurants, I give my order to my family for food and let them wait in line and order for me, and I go get FPs

4. Shopping - I am not a shopper. When DW or kids want to shop, that is a great time for me to get FPs

5. Parades - We grab a spot 20-40 minutes early (depending on the parade), and I go get FPs while everyone relaxes at the parade route

6. Park departure mid-day - When family leaves to the hotel for an afternoon break I use that time to get FPs and often hop into the opposite the park to get FPs as well. Then I head back to the hotel and join my family for the break.

Great tips for running times! :thumbsup2 The counter meal time would work best for us. I just didn't like using line time for running because I was afraid I would miss something. :)

honestly, I'm not much of a cutter. I'm one of the FP runners because I know the park the best and I use restrooms the least.

I think I saw one of the first posts say that the family waited at the Space Mt line while the runner got FP's at Buzz's. Astro Blasters. That wouldn't be a good idea for me. I'd do the opposite, almost. The line for Space is so much more time than Buzz's. I'd get FP's for Space and head to Buzz's altogether.

I think the key is to be in the local area with your people. I run and leave my ppl at the restrooms, shops, arcades, shooting expo, or somewhere enjoying a band. Then, we all meet up and go on a fast line attraction like, Pirates, Mansion, Jungle cruise, Buzz, Tom Sawyer's island, or Tarzan's treehouse.

We also don't throw away FP's. We still use them, even when they are expired. As long as its in the same day, its all good.

Just make sure you wipe off the cinnimon & brown sugar off your face....or you'll be busted. :rolleyes1

I agree on all counts (especially not being a "shopper")....except (for me) insert the putt putt cars or the astro orbiter for Star Tours.

Nor can I kiss DH when I return with the FPs, as my churro breath is a dead giveaway that I took a slight detour. :cutie:

how long does it take to run and get a FP fot splash from fabtasyland???
avg walking
Splash is about as far from Fantasyland as you can get for a FP. I would say 7-8 minutes with average walking to get to Splash Mtn. I power walk it in maybe 5 minutes.

Here's my estimate: :goodvibes

Average walking time :cool1: Fantasyland to Splash Mtn (round trip): 12 minutes :wizard:

HTH :earsboy:

ETA: I cross-posted with HydroGuy. On wikimapia the walking distance from FL to Splash looked to be about 1,500 feet. YMMV. :)
