Fast Food Burgers

I've never seen Five Guys but supposedly In-N-Out plans to open new locations in our area. I'll check it out when they do. But meanwhile, I eat a burger maybe twice a year and it's generally from Wendy's.

I might be the only person in the Midwest who can't stand Butterburgers.

My vote is for Kopps. Thank goodness they are a three hour drive away from me!

The Butter Burger from Culver's!

:worship:

Of course you have to get a frozen custard or concrete for dessert!

I'm not really fond of burgers. (I prefer turkey or soy burgers). I get chicken nuggets, Southern style chicken or a McChicken at McD's. And chicken sandwiches most other places except Arbys where I get a plain RB sandwich.

There are two local places Johnnies Charcol Burgers and Flat Tire Burgers that I like.

If I'm on the west coast I really like In n Out Burgers. I heard about the one in Frisco TX. I go to Allen and Grapevine a couple of times a year, I"ll be making the drive over for sure.

Down in Galveston there's a place called Michael's.

I don't do burgers that often, but when I'm craving one I head to Backyard Burgers for a Bacon-Cheeseburger with Waffle Fries and a Shake.

In and Out is on my bucket list.

My vote is for Five Guys. It has surpassed my long standing favorite...the bacon cheeseburger from Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club/WDW.

ACK! I should NOT have opened this thread, now I want a fast food burger!

I am starting a weight loss challenge Aug 1st and am trying not to do the "last meal" thing and adding more weight to lose before starting!

BTW: Tell us how you lost all that weight?

Congrats.

Dawn

Culver's double butterburger with just cheese, lettuce, and tomato. YUMMY!!!! :lovestruc

Wendy's are good, and In and Out's are to die for, but since I live in Illinois and the only time I had an In and Out burger was almost 10 years ago, it's not something that's exactly accessable :rotfl:

I lost the 100 lbs over 8 months with a doctor the first four months monitoring an extreme low cal diet of 1000 calories i ate what ever I wanted just 1000 calories of it, I walked 30 minutes a day and on fridays (I was doing full time school and part time work so I only had fridays to work out) I did 1 hour of cardio and Saturday id do a 2 hour walk.

Ive only gained back 10 lbs which I lost when I started this fast food diet (for the fast food I eat chicken soup and fruit from chick fil a, or chili from wendys, fruit and walnut salad from mc donalds, grilled chicken strips and fruit from jack in the box, side sampler from Boston market to name a few items) and for my non fast food meals I eat a bowl of broccoli with a piece of chicken and a cup of skim milk and a slice of whole wheat bread (that meal is to balance out the otehr stuff)

The main focus of the 1000 calorie diet was 3 meals of 250 calories and then to snacks like fruit or veggies it worked awesomley. I took a multivitamin and one of my meals out of convenience was a complete meal shake again to ensure I was getting all my vitamins and nutrition. I got to see a dietician once a month and everything who found it interesting i learned to make 232 calorie mini pizzas haha and a bunch of other odd 250 calorie recipes he told me to write a book haha. Anywhoo over the 9 month period I only cheated Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and New Years Eve, and My Birthday and I felt so good about myself for not cheating on the diet.
Be strong Dawn and on your diet do what I do...have one treat day a week so for one meal eat something naughty like a cheeseburger or french fries then be good the rest of the day.
Best of luck!

Thank you.

You know, the min. calories used to be 1000 for a diet. It moved up to 1200 at some point but I am not sure when.

I have found that 1000 leaves me hungry (although I haven't tried what you are doing), but if I stick between 1100-1200 and do some form of exercise, I can start to lose weight.

Doctors say not to do less than 1200 alone as its not healthy at all. I find I eat 1000 a day and feel fine buts its all what i eat but if i need a bowl of cereal or something an extra 200 i knew I could and it wasnt a big deal...I like having that option :) i LOVE soup so I can eat a whole pot of soup for 300 calories so that really fills me up and im part camel so i drink alot of water I really think that aided in a successful diet. I hate vegetables but over 9 months of eating them I crave them. I guess its not a diet its a lifestyle change.

Oh back to the topic to those who said Carls Jr I find them pretty good too but too greasy most times for me I usually get the chicken stars there

No, I can't stand Butterburgers either. Ick

My favorite is BK Whopper W/ Cheese. :goodvibes

When I did WW (and wasn't a vegetarian!), I could eat "light" for the day and still manage to fit in a McD cheeseburger and small fries and not go over points.

I would imagine that most burger places have some version of a small burger and small fries that would satisfy a craving (try a kids' meal or cut a burger and fries in half), although I don't know some of the places mentioned.

I used this web site for WW points at restaurants.

I just like to satisfy cravings with small portions before I go crazy and eat a batch of cookie dough (mmmmm...cookie dough...)!

Here in Indiana my favorite burger place is Steak 'n Shake. Outside of Indiana, In-N-Out burgers are tops.

A guy from the food network said that was his favourite he does Glutton for Punishment I cant think of his name but On the Best Thing I Ever Ate he chose steak N Shake as his fav too! lol

Wow. I live in New England and have never even HEARD of many of the places you guys are mentioning. Among the ones mentioned that we don't have here:
In & Out
Carls
Hardees
Five Guys (I saw one when I was in PA)
Better Burger

All we have here are:
Mc Donalds
Wendy's
Burger King
a couple Arby's, few and far between
and one Sonic in the state which just opened here in my town two weeks ago (and you can't get anywhere NEAR it because of the traffic)

I've been driving past 5 Guys for two years and never tried it seems like a lot of people like them so we'll have to try it. Formerly on Long Island we LOVED Bobby Burgers (Bobby Flay) and All American burger that has been mentioned, miss them. We have gone to Steak N Shake delicious !

I am from Mass also and only have what is stated above, I do NOT eat any take out what so ever. Not only to much fat, but your sodium and other crap I just do not eat...but that being said. If you are from this area, you know for a fact Arbys just is NOT real roast beef!!!!!! Anyone who has eaten in a REAL New England Roast beef shop knows what I mean!!!

When I was a kid and did eat meat, roast beef with sauce was the way to go, I then one day hit an Arby's while heading south and was just totally disgusted with what it was they called Roast Beast!!!
Roast Beef like Bill and Bobs or Kelly's Roast Beef and Chinese food is the best around here also!

They just opened a 5 Guys by my house...guess I'd better give it a try!

If I'm doing a drive through, it's usually a Whopper (no mayo, extra pickle) for me or a Whataburger if that's closer. I prefer a burger from Chili's with onion strings.:thumbsup2

.EDITED: change of plans....hamburger, reg fried and reg drink $10.27 including tax...don't think so. Rather go to Chilis, sit down, get waited on....
