Fast Food Burgers

They just opened a 5 Guys by my house...guess I'd better give it a try!

If I'm doing a drive through, it's usually a Whopper (no mayo, extra pickle) for me or a Whataburger if that's closer. I prefer a burger from Chili's with onion strings.:thumbsup2

.EDITED: change of plans....hamburger, reg fried and reg drink $10.27 including tax...don't think so. Rather go to Chilis, sit down, get waited on....
That's pricey for fast food!

I'm seeing that there are actually a few of these in nearby Plano but I'm not sure about spending this much.

Just realize, their hamburger, is actually a double burger and the reg fries is enough for 2 to share. They are yummy though!

Is that two 1/4 pound patties, or larger ones? And I'm only one person, so an oversided order of fries would be wasted. So, at least in the case of a solo, sounds like I'd be spending money and throwing away food.

HOWEVER...perhaps a stop by JUST to try the fries with a beverage could be a good plan. ;) (notice the fries won out over the burger......)

OR....just wait till I can go with a friend to share...

I am pretty sure each patty is 1/4 pound. And it is so worth it to just get their fries, their fries ROCK! The only fries I like that are even close are Nathan's. You can get a burger with 1 patty though, it is cheaper :).

Big Mac!!
Anyone remember this...

Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun!!

in-N-out. I'm glad they are only out on the west coast makes them taste better since I can only have one when I go out to LA or Vegas.

Another vote for 5 guys!

(But sometimes I just want a big mac, because it reminds me of my teen years)

I love 5 Guys, and I'm on Weight Watchers, so I haven't had them in a good while. I did look at the point values and cringed!!! When I get a burger craving, I either make it myself or go to Wendy's and get a Jr. Hamburger. I miss the 5 Guys fries more than the burgers!

OK...just got back...here's my 5 Guys review:

Fries...tasty....however I don't like 'limp' fries, so not my favorite.

I had the single burger and it seemed overwhelmed by the toppings. Mustard and ketchup liberally applied. Lettuce, tomatoes and pickles were all fresh and crisp. I actually removed some of the tomato becuase it was thicker than the single patty and overpowered. If I were picking one up to go I would wait till I got home to apply M&K.

$8 and change for the single, reg fries and reg drink.

I do want to go back and try the bacon/cheese/dog sometime. I haven't had a 'frankcheesie' for years! (and probably never should...I would probably feel my arteries clogging!)

The Butter Burger from Culver's!

:worship:

Of course you have to get a frozen custard or concrete for dessert!

I'll have to agree with you & I love a raspberry concrete!! In & Out is 2nd for me. Sadly neither are near me. We are striclty McD's BK & Wendys here.

Wow. I live in New England and have never even HEARD of many of the places you guys are mentioning. Among the ones mentioned that we don't have here:
In & Out
Carls
Hardees
Five Guys (I saw one when I was in PA)
Better Burger

All we have here are:
Mc Donalds
Wendy's
Burger King
a couple Arby's, few and far between
and one Sonic in the state which just opened here in my town two weeks ago (and you can't get anywhere NEAR it because of the traffic)

OK now I'm pretty sure I know where you are. We tried to get to sonic last week & it was crazy! There is 5 guys here in Milford & I think Farmington.

While I think 5 Guys is very tasty, there is a local burger place that it can't be compared to. Love Shack, by Tim Love. The "Dirty Love" is my favorite - is has cheese, bacon, 'love sauce' and a fried quail egg on top. Don't knock it until you try it!

The best thing about Love Shack is the meat - it's tenderloin and brisket ground together.

I tried one of the best burgers ever at this place in New York city in Chelsea called "burgerz?. I dunno something like that. They were soooooo delicious. The place was packed too.

I have to try 5 guys, we got a bunch opened here in Houston recently but I still have not tried any.

We have a Fudruckers that out of this world burgers. So delicious!!!

I also like Whataburger

Does anyone remember Jack in the Box? My husband and I were talking about missing the Bonus Jacks today! Now I have to see if the chain still exists.:)

You know... now I need to find the time to go to 5 Guys. The one near by is 20 mins away, so I really only get to go when I would be in that part of town. Which is rare enough as it is and super rare when I actually also would have TIME to stop LOL!

Little Cheeseburger with Mayo, Ketchup, Mustard, Tomato, and grilled onions... mmmmmmmmmm

Jack In The Box is alive and well out here. Love their commercials!
