Need to know if me white shorts and pants come with me in October or stay packed away.

Do Floridians wear white pants and shoes in the fall & winter?

Just curious to see if whites lose their appeal once the seasons change.

:)

I dont know if its acceptable dress but I know I just like to be as comfortable and cool on vacation as I can be ! :) RamseyTrio - I grew up in Bethel Ct! Lived MANY yrs ago on Chestnut Hill! Born in Danbury! :) I still have alot of family there!

Lived in Pensacola, FL for 18 mo's and the only people who didn't wear white after Labor Day were VERY old fashioned! I doubt you will have any problem at the parks, as it is still quite warm, and everyone wears their summer clothes throughout the Fall. I had a hard time breaking that rule for the first time - until a few Floridians laughed at me! Have fun!

I will still take and wear my white short (don't tell my coworkers, they will kill me), but I draw the line on white shoes....no white shoes after labor day (sneakers excluded).

ITA!!! White pants, shorts okay, white shoes except sneakers is a faux pas.

Thanks guys! :) I felt sort of silly asking it!

JiggerJ - What a small world! I've lived in Bethel for most of my life. Linda Lane. BHS class of '87. If you had asked me back in high school if I'd ever settle down here I'd have told you "NO WAY" but now, as an adult with a family, I'm really enjoying the community.

I wouldn't be worried about the "rules" but about getting dirty! Our rule was always no white at MK, and I think now it would apply to AK too...too much sitting on outdoor furniture, etc....too likely to wind up with a brown butt! (You don't want anybody to wonder WHY you have a brown butt, now do you?) ;) Have fun

I live in Tampa and wear open-toed shoes and white all year long if it helps me stay cool! Florida is so laid back; you have nothing to worry about!

I bought a pair of Skechers open toe sandals. They are so comfortable but they are totally white! I plan on wearing them everyday to the parks. Fashion is fashion but walking needs comfortable shoes! hope I don;t meet the fashion police! LOL!

Believe me...the fashion police at WDW have a whole lot worse things to worry about than your white shorts!!! Even the white shoe issue is a non-issue for the fashion police. Some of the 'outfits' we've seen there in both summer and winter were incredible!!!! And we aren't talking about white sandals!!! Wear what makes you comfortable.

Actually I saw, in an upscale store here, new suits for fall in white, not "winter white" but white, and they were paired with white faux croc shoes!! So I think all the old rules are going out the window. I still wear my white strappy sandals! I say wear what you like. If anyone says anything, tell them they have waaaayyyy too much time on their hands and should consider getting a hobby!

LOL-This is exactly what I was thinking...Regardless of fashion rules, white shorts get dirty so easily!! I don't even wear light colored khakis to the parks. I wear jeans/jean shorts or medium to dark colored shorts/pants.

I agree, white will be dirty before the day even begins! I plan to wear jean/denim shorts, capris or long pants most days. For my dressier night (VMCP) I will be bringing black pants. It has to be comfy, but practical too. I guess sneakers everyday make the most sense, but I'm not a big sneaker wearer usually. I love my sandals and have a few pair that are so comfy, I'm bringing them too. Dec the 2 times I was there was still really warm, but my parents also had 32 deg weather 1 time. So plan for all occasions.

Have fun!

You can wear white here all year, but it does get dirty.

I avoid white pants at theme parks...you sit in so many wet, dirty places. Also if you are riding any rides like the river rapids, check to make sure the white pants don't become see through when wet!;)

I wouldn't wear white at a theme park just on the basis of you never know what you'll sit it, have spilled on you, etc.
Now, if you want to use that as an excuse to do more shopping, then by all means, go for it.
