Then why on earth are you on a thread about Farmville??

Tell me what it is that draws people to this kind of stuff on Facebook. I really would like to know. What do you get out of it that makes it so addictive?? I know a ton of people that stay on line for hours on Facebook. I'm sure there are those that would ask me what I get out of being on DIS so much. I guess it's a to each his own type thing. Don't mean to rain on anyone's parade. Just curious.

WOW...that seems really childish if your "friends" are doing that just because you enjoy a game. I'm thinking you didn't need them as friends to begin with.

Because I never, ever understand why someone (not just the poster on this thread) goes into a thread about a certain subject just to criticize it. Why bother? If you don't like it then fine but don't come in and almost act like you are putting down people who like it (again, not just against the poster on this thread)

If you like something then you just like it...there isn't always a reason. The fans on this thread could go on and on about why they like it but to them it's not important why someone else doesn't like it. I don't like football, but I would never have gone on one of the Superbowl threads and ask how anyone could like the sport.

Same with Disney...I don't feel the need to explain to people why our family likes it and why we go so often. Our business.

Right now I have a lot of stress in my life and I find on-line games to be very theraputic. (sp?) I would rather worry about my crops withering than the fact my 89 year old Dad was in the hospital once again....or that I need help with my barn raising instead of worrying about my 84 year old Mom and her bladder infection...and so on. I have control in my game - not so much in my life. I can come home and escape into Farmville or some other game for a while for a break. I don't like violent games (many do) and I would prefer to check on my cute farm animals.

Most of my Farmville neighbors are DISers as my friends IRL don't like it. So having the DIS has been great because I have other people who like what I like, they don't criticize, and they are great help to getting all the extra stuff! A lot of my IRL friends also don't like going to Disney so the DIS boards are a help to be around others of my own kind.

I, for one, am thankful for my DISer neighbors - thanks guys!

It's very simple for them to hide the application. They would still see all of your other posts. I had FarmVille hidden for awhile before I started playing it. That way I didn't have to wade through any posts about it. Right now I have Yoville, CafeWorld, PetVille, and Mafia hidden.

I have friends that don't like getting all the posts about barn raising, bonuses etc..so I just don't send it their way...when I go to publish I customize and just type in their names to block the feed. OR, you can do a list of all the friends you have for the game and then just send to them. I still want them on my friends list but if they don't play the games they really don't need to see every single one of my games postings.

Do you have the FarmVille tool bar? It has a countdown timer so you know exactly how much time until the harvest is ready. I can't live w/o it now.

whenever one of my friends has joined the group "I don't care about your farm, your fish, your mafia, etc." (have you all seen this?) I comment on it and ask them if they know how to block these apps. I can't understand why people would rather complain about it than block it. They must not know they have that option?

I am getting sooooo aggrivated!!! I keep clicking on "get a collectable" or "find a collectable" and when I do it says "congratulations you've been awarded....." but then it doesn't show up in my gift box. I have received so many rare pieces that would have completed quite a few of my collections but since they never showed up, I haven't been able to redeem them. And I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY need that fuel. LOL I am so sick and tired of not having any fuel and having to click each and every plot that my hands are becoming numb I mean I have 562 plots and it just gets very taxing after awhile.

PS....Can someone tell me about all these Christmas trees that I've been seeing pop up. I swear, one of my neighbors (I think she's on here) LOL has a BAZILLION of them but I can't claim any of the presents since I don't have a tree. I'm assuming it's from Christmas time (and I didn't start playing until January) but what is she doing......just getting rid of all her presents? I'm just confused, that's all. Thanks!!!

You're right...the "holiday tree" was from Christmas and are not available any longer. I don't know how your friend got a "bazillion" of them since they were one to a player like the chicken coops. A few of my neighbors have one but I got rid of mine since you couldn't store it.

One way to get fuel without having to open any mystery boxes or eggs is have a friend 'ask for love' from you from the Valentine heart mail box. I practically beg my friends to send me love b/c that where the fuel is. I'll write, 'I click for fuel' or explain, ' you can choose to get the following- FREE fuel, mystery box, Xp points, 1k in coins, or a animal. '-asking they reciprocate back . Sure you may not want the hearts, but free gas, I'll take it!

maslex, I've lost chances to share collectible pieces due to a faded pop up screen. Not sure why, I'm no programmer.

Would anyone like to offer a tip for the day or something like above tomorrow? I know I'd like to continue to gain FV knowledge. What's been posted so far has been great nuggets of info and I appreciate it.

I think that there may be confusion betwee the Holiday Tree and the Ornament trees. The ornament trees could be purchased so you could buy as many as you chose to buy. The Hiliday tree was limited to one and held presents. I also got rid of mine after the Holiday. I also got rid of the snow and decorations but that little mutiny did not bring Spring to me any sooner

Oh my, you have just asked the most inept person on this thread to help you I know you can do it but I have no idea how it is done. I will confess right now that my DS sets up my computer, fixes everything I mess up, puts protection on spreadsheets I need so that I don't lose the formulas he makes.
