FarmVILLE on Facebook

Yay, Farmfanatics! I wish I knew about this thread earlier. I'm addicted to Farmville and if anyone would like to add me as a neighbor, please just send me a PM. The more the merrier! :goodvibes

i have no interest in the snag bar- i mean if you're gonna play, play, i don't see the point in cheating. i worked my behind off to get where i am and am proud that i did it on my own. yeah i know i have no life! fv and the disboards are my 2 vices in life! lol
I agree...I found one of my Cafe World neighbors was doing something shady due to the huge amount of points they accumulated in a very short period of time and I booted them as a neighbor. What's the point of playing a game if you always have to be in the lead all the time? You know? I have a FarmVille neighbor who I know personally and she was like that. She always found a way to purchase the buildings and decorations so she could skip through the game and beat everyone. I was way ahead of her at one time and then almost overnight, she passed me. But since her husband lost his job she hasn't had the extra money and is now four levels behind me. Slow and steady...you know? ;)

It sure seems silly of me to try to "win" at a game that is, mostly, solitaire. Carrying the solitaire analogy forward, some of the things some FarmVille players do is a bit like ordering the cards in the deck before starting a round of solitaire, so that the cards are in a "good order". By the same token, there is a big difference between dropping the balls in the pockets by hand and using a better cue stick, and I do see a lot of FarmVille players going way off the deep end with their suspicion of others "cheating". Often, that suspiciousness gets to be as silly as ordering the cards in the deck before a round of solitaire.

There is a middle ground where true fairness and sportsmanship rests... not at either extreme.

Well, I hate the snag bar for one reason and it isn't because others use it to get ahead in the game. The reason I hate it is because they grab all the rewards before my other neighbors can get anything. These same people who are grabbing everything off the feed never help on barnraising or help when I post a wish for a bushel for my crafting. They also don't buy goods from me or even post very much on the feed at all. When I post a golden egg and all of them are gone within 5 seconds, then, yeah, I don't like it. When I get things off the feed, I always post a "like" symbol and try not to be too greedy. I want people to have a chance at grabbing eggs and other rewards that I post and if the snagbars are grabbing them right away, then it annoys me. I drop anyone that I think is using a snagbar so that others can grab the rewards I post, not because they might get ahead of me.

I thought that that is one of the things people use to determine that someone is using a grab bar, since some of the grab bars automatically "Like" rewards that they claim. See how quickly someone can be painted with the wrong brush due to assumptions made?

I have a different approach. I have my neighbors in groups, and post each limited bonus typically to just one of the groups. (Bonuses that are not limited, like crop mastery or ribbons, I post to all the groups.) Most limited bonuses I "spread around", posting one to one group, and then the next to another group. That way, if someone is running a grab bar 24x7, they're only grabbing a limited amount of what I'm posting, and only a small number of my neighbors are adversely affected.

The thing that I'm most concerned about is people using grab bars to grab bushels from the feed, bushels that they don't need for crafting or for getting mastery bonus. The idea of that really steams me up - people grabbing bushels and then using them for pig slop, or just sharing them back to their feed where they go uncollected because the expire. I have a group for the people with the same kind of crafting cottage as I have, making the same recipe that I'm grabbing bushel's for, and I typically post those bushel bonuses just to that group.

I don't get into the husbandry stuff (special types of horses or cows) but I suspect that an approach like that would work well for folks who are into that stuff: Sharing rare animals with other people who are breeders.

In the end, I really hate the whole "posting to the feed" approach. I'm playing FarmVille; I'm not playing Facebook! I wish they'd get rid of all the posting to Facebook and just have something inside the game where things get posted. That would get rid of all these issues.

I always "Like" things when I get them from the feed (without a grab bar) simply because it helps me keep track of which things I've collected so far. Otherwise, I get confused going back and forth between the feed and collecting the item, scrolling down to find the place in the feed, etc.

I do the same thing, I like them as I collect so that I can keep track

I don't know of any of the snagbars that add "like".

Trust me, I didn't unfriend anyone unless they were using a snagbar. I sent a message to the 2 people who I suspected of using snagbars. They both told me that they did use them. No assumptions were made.

Most of the time I just go thru Facebook grabbing stuff quickly so don't take the time to click "like".... I tried the snagbar but ditched it when it didn't work.

I really cut back on the amount I was playing when they came out with all the crafting stuff and the co-ops. It just got too difficult to manage. I spend enough time computer. I still hop on occasionally and send gifts but I'm really not planting and harvesting any crops at this point.

I don't bother with the crafting stuff. And rarely do co-ops.

The crafting cottages are the only reason why my wife and I are still playing, and the new crafting cottage recipe co-ops are super.

I just started playing Farmville a few days ago. It is so addictive. I'm at level 18 right now.

I cannot believe I never noticed this thread on here before. I am a HUGE FV addict. I work on my farm daily (including crafting and jobs) and even work my roommate's farm for him, since he tends to neglect it.

I never heard of the snag bar until this thread. But I can't accept many gifts right now anyway. I have way too many boards and nails and bricks that I don't want to get rid of - I'm positive Thanksgiving will bring more structures to build.

Huge farmville addict + frontierville too now!

Would welcome a few more neighbors. PM me to add
