I'm spending time on the DIS boards while two farmers are at my farm harvesting my crops - I don't like to be there when someone else is there. Before I take my shower and get ready for the day I need to plow and plant my fields...

Do yall get lots of error messages when you're harvesting for someone? Sometimes I can't hardly get a job done with all the errors and waiting for it to save. I wonder if it is getting too much traffic on there and it just can't handle it. (kind of like the dis gets at times)

Sometimes the farm owner will say just the trees or only the pumpkins

But if you just appear with another person…
Do you just take half and leave them the other
Or is it more of a race to see who gets more????

I've only been hired with another Diser. In that case I only do half or my share if there are more than 2 of us harvesting.

I would think that if you are hired with another random person from the Marketplace then it's all fair game.

I think it also depends on what the other person is doing. Some people try to harvest on top of you practically. If they appear to be sharing, I will do the same. If they look like they are trying to get it all, then I do that too. I guess all's fair in FarmTown.

I have tried to harvest many of times.. I think I did it successfully ONCE. The rest of the time I just crash and need to reboot my computer.. I have given up on trying to harvest for other people!

Sometimes the "other" person is a ghost that somehow gets sucked into the farm with you. I have about 10 strangers on ignore because they ended up on my farm after I've been to the marketplace.

When I harvest with a DIS person usually if there is more than 1 of us we ended up chatting, harvest a few fields, chat some more, harvest a tree, chat again.....

I once had a PITA that hired everyone in the marketplace, sent us all to his farm and there were no crops for us to harvest. Apparently he thought he was funny or was eliminating his competion in the marketplace.

That's the fun part - hiring DISers and chatting. It's been great getting to know some of the DISers that I have posted back and forth with on threads for years.

Sometimes when a person (neighbor or friend) comes to my farm, that person is invisible to me and I can't click on them to hire them. Then, if we go to their farm, they are still invisible! I can't click to hire them, and they get an error message when they try to hire me.

What's up with this?! Does anyone have this problem and know how to fix it? TIA!

People are odd...
i ended up on a farm with four people and only a few things to harvest
just did one square and went back to the market place...

Though I think I’m going to need some talented person to design my farm
I’ve been on lots of pretty ones…and mine’s just a bunch of misaligned paths

This happened to me and another Diser. I could see her fine but she couldn't see me- on my farm and on hers. She logged out and then back in and everything was fine.

That could be me ("Lilly") that you're talking about---it happened again today and logging out didn't help.

I have a whole farm ready to be harvested but I can't see my friends to hire someone. I don't have time to do FT right now, but later this afternoon I will give it another try.
