Hi guys! I'm hoping Bavaria or another one of you seasoned travelers can give me a hand. I plan to fly to London next year and would love to know when the fare sales (eg, $99. NYC to London) start. Not sure if it's the same time every year. TIA!

I cannot answer your question, but, I love your quote. That match was something, wasn't it?

What I always find humoruous about the fare sales is the amount of the fare is often less then 1/2 the final total once all taxes and fees are added in.

Have you checked BA or VA, both have been running some great sales as of late to various places in Europe, although I'm not sure of the dates.

Thanks for the quick responses! We actually have spent the evening searching BA, VA, and Kuwait Air (don't ask). Does anyone know the name of the airfare site that begins with "v" or "z"-- like "Vatzi" or something? Old age is killing my brain cells...

You will be staying home.. that fare is not coming. Sorry!

Fares this year have been up considerably from prior years. Go read the Europe travel boards (Fodors.com, RickSteves.com, TripAdvisor.com) Lots of complaints that Europe airfare even in the "off season" is now much closer to $1,000 RT then $500.

There is much less capacity then in prior years.

Your best (and maybe only) hope for a cheap fare. Icelandic Air via Iceland.

Agreed. Cheap trans-atlantic fares are more rare than a Bavaria sighting these days. I have a conference in London in early December (it doesn't get much more offseason than that) and prices have been stubbornly above $1K for as long as I've been looking.

Thanks for the answers, but I'm going to keep re-posting this until you all give me the answer I want to hear.:goodvibes I guess I'll have to stay with friends instead of at a hotel... Camden, here I come! Thanks again, guys.

Oh, and I really wanted to do up some t-T-shirts with the line from my sig - but I think it's a bit late now.
