FAQ about the Disney Dining Plan

Question: For a TS credit on the dining plan it includes an appetizer. Is that 1 per person? How does that work for the kids? I have a family of 5 all on the dining plan. Could we potentially have 5 different appetizers before our entrees?

With all this food...could my daughter and I share? I order and eat her appetizer and she eat her entree or vice versa?
Thanks.

Yes you each get your own appetizer. If there is not a childrens appetizer available they can chose one from the adult menu

Hi,
I have a question about how to use the credit for table service for breakfast. I saw for Wispering Canyon Cafe that there were starters, one being a fruit plate and another being a basket of pastries, I assume those would be considered appetizers. Anyone ever use the plan for a sit down breakfast that wasn't a buffet? Just curious to see how that works out.

Thanks in advance for any answers.

GREAT thread! We just booked the dining plan today so this thread has been a wonderful wealth of information! I just have a couple questions...

First, can someone verify that you are not eligible for wine at Spirit of Aloha if you use your dining plan? Our AAA/CAA agent said we're not eligible (unless of course we pay for it separately). We're also going to the Hoop Dee Doo, but we've already paid for it so I'm looking forward to some sangria! :D

Second question.....in order to do some specialty dinners (Spirit of Aloha and Jiko), dh and I want to share some other TS meals (ie. Sci Fi Diner, Le Celier). Is this frowned upon by CM's? I realize that by doing this, their tip won't be as good. Any thoughts? I don't want to be embarrassed or uncomfortable sharing meals. TIA! :)

My understanding about HDDR and SofA is that the alcohol is included in the price of the show. Therefore, when you use two dining credits, you get whatever is included.

Does anyone know how Earl of Sandwich works with this plan? Does the slaw/soup count as an appetizer? What about drinks?

Do your cards show the ages of members on the plan?

Following up on this question, if one has a "junior" on the plan (age 10 through 17), they pay the adult price for the dining plan, right? So, would they be listed as a child on the card, or as an adult???

it would show up on the card as an adult since that is the price you paid for him. For park entry, he would use that card the same as normal and it will be coded for him.

This thread needs a sticky. Half the questions on this board and on the budget board are already answered here.

Our child is 13, will he be able to order adult portions? He will actually turn 14 on the 17th of September.

Yes, your son can order adult portions. You will have to pay for his dining plan as an adult ($34.99).

You can use it at any of the restaurants/counter service that is on the list.

Thanks Elizabeth!

I wasn't sure because we got our letter in the mail yesterday and it said 3 adults, 1 13 year old and I wasn't sure if 13 meant adult, I'm glad it does because that child can eat more than me!!!!
