Equivalent to Promenade Lounge? That would be Bon Voyage (for families - alcohol served to 21 and over).

Hello Every1!

Also any1 have travel plans solidified yet? We are planning on flying or taking the auto train in the day before and then leave a few days after.

:)
:)

We live just north of Atlanta, so the drive is easy for us-7 hours give or take (or depending on how many times the 11 year old has to go to the bathroom :-) )
We will drive down on Friday, and stay at a hotel in Orlando. DS, DD, and I travel a good bit in the spring refereeing at Tae Kwon Do tournaments and we will be missing a tournament in Orlando the day we board the ship-ah the price you pay to cruise  ANYWAY...we are very close to the core group of referees from the southeast that we work with, so we are going to stay at the hotel with the referees the night before the tournament/cruise...I just don't know what hotel yet. I am waiting for that information to be published (for the tournament) so I can book my room before all of the "special tournament rate" rooms are gone (this tournament that we will miss is usually around 500 competitors so I've got to book our room as soon as they're available)
We will drive home as soon as we get off the ship :sad2:since DH works for a church and will have to work the next day. (It was difficult enough getting 1 Sunday off, but 2 in a row would be nearly impossible)

I believe that should be the ROSEN CENTER Hotel (attached to the convention center by a Sky Bridge), 9840 International Drive in Orlando. The "special rate" is usually $139 while available. If the refs are using the event hotel, that should be it. (407) 996-9840. I could be wrong, but you might check it out to not take a chance on missing out. ;)

I think wearing a ribbon is a great idea.

My experience so far has been tha, on our last cruise we had a meet on embarkation day and every1 was running around trying to get situated that hardly any1 showed up. and that was our only meet really scheduled.

I will put a time up after I guess more ppl on here respond back with what they think will work better. Mb I can do it after breakfast on costa maya day. like 9/10am. Since from what I read on the thread many ppl rnt going to be running to get off as the time is so short to actually do anything.

Poolside meets would be great if the crowds rnt too crazy! or maybe even a breakfast meet at 1 of the restaurants since they rnt too bz in the mornings.

Also I was thinking, mb on embarkation day we could wear something lime green, like a ribbon on our arm and that would be a great way to meet the Disers on the cruise that day.

If anyone would like to participate in the Fish Extender Exchange, I am willing to organize it! Please send me:

1. Name, age, gender of all in your cabin.
2. Stateroom number
3. Home e-mail address so I can send you the file for easy printing at home.

The cutoff date to sign up will be March 31st. I will repost this several times to try to catch everyone that may not read the entire board.

I will compose a list for everyone and distribute that list shortly after we reach the deadline.

We are flying in on Friday from WA state and our travel agent suggested staying at the hotel that's inside of the Orlando airport....so then first thing Saturday morning we just get on a DCL shuttle and head to the port!!! We are staying at the Polynesian the week after the cruise and heading home on the 12th. Can't wait!!!!!!!

106 Days!!!!

Just thought I would throw that out there:cool1:

Since this is going to be our first time on any of the new ships...we're all super excited to check them out! Heard/read so many things about the Dream and the new water features on the Fantasy. Hope we have amazing weather to enjoy it all!

My fav part of vacation...not having to cook/clean for a whole week! lol

What are some of things u guys are looking fwd to?

O

Hey everybody!!! It's been a while since I checked in. The holidays were by hectic as I'm sure they were for everyone else. Only a couple of months to go. I see a lot of new people have joined this amazing cruise. Just a heads up, my whole group is still participating in the fish extenders and whatever other meets. Come up with. I hope we can definitely do a "room crawl" so we can check out all of the categories!!!

Ps. Does anyone plan on going to see the ship pull in to port canaveral in early march???:cool1::cool1::cool1:

What do I look forward to?? The fact that for an entire week, my ONLY responsibility is to make sure that I-me, myself, and only me-am clean!!! Somebody else cooks, cleans up, cleans my bathroom, etc.
When I am with my kiddos on vacation, I can just have fun with them. No making sure school work is done (they are homeschooled), no getting to work on time, no making sure they make it to scouts on time, or gymnastics, or dance, or tae kwon do, etc.
They even have their own room, so I don't have to look at the mess!!!
:banana::banana::woohoo::woohoo::dance3::yay::yay::cheer2::cheer2:
OK...I think I went a little emoticon happy there

You send a PM to me - taswira - OR if you want to post it here on the thread then when I see it I'll update your info. ;)

got my activities onboard and excursions booked on the 14th. Bummer, that DCL doesn't let me book dinner for my entire party. I can only book me since my parents are newcomers to DCL. I wonder when they changed from asking for a table of a certain party size to actually defining who will be sitting at the table?

Just booked this cruise...our very first one EVER!! Travelling with Grandma, and DH and DS 10, DS 8 and DD 4....so very excited! This site is fabulous for hints/tips! One STUPID question but OK for first timers is what is a Fish Extender?

Looking forward to a great Disney Adventure!

Hi All-
Emily and Michael here-Newark-DE. We are friends with supercrusier420 and will be joining everyone on this cruise! We can't wait to celebrate our friend's big 3-0! We have been busy last year planning our wedding and this year training for the Disney Marathon but now that all that is over with, we can focus on our upcoming cruise. I am brand new to the disboards-I usually leave all of this stuff to supercruiser, he is a great personal travel agent, but I thought I would give it a shot this time around. This is my 3rd Disney cruise and my hubby's 2nd. Let the countdown begin!

I am organizing the FE exchange for our cruise! LEt me know if you want to join after you read the description below.

Here is an overview I stole from another website. Also if you google it, you can see images of some great ones. I ordered mine through gradysmommy on ebay. Hers are beautiful and you custom order it with your family's name, as well as different characters for each pocket. Prior to the cruise, I am collecting everyone's information who want to participate. (PM me with your cabin number, names, ages, and genders of everyone in your room.)

Named for the decor from which they hang, fish extenders are usually handmade pocket organizers (similar to a shoe caddy or mail organizer) customized with names, favorite Disney characters, etc. These pocket organizers are hung from a decorative fish ornament that is attached to the wall outside of each cabin.

A fish extender group is basically a gift exchange, albeit with a little extra pixie dust.

Once numbers are finalized, each member of the group prepares a gift for the other participating cabins. There are no rules regarding gifts (no minimum or maximum dollar value). Once the cruise has commenced, participants deliver their gifts to the other participating staterooms, leaving them as a surprise in the fish extender pockets. One of the most fun aspects of taking part in a fish extender group is checking in throughout the day to see what little goodies are waiting.
