Hello,
We will be on this cruise with our daughter and another couple with their son. We have never been on a Disney Cruise and are trying to learn about the fish extender program as we would love to participate. How does it work and how many gifts would we need to get. Do the parents as well as the kids participate and do the gift exchange. Would you only give your gifts on one day? Please help! We are confused! We are so excited about the cruise! Thanks

Hello chiokerri!

Fish Extenders are basically a type of 'secret santa' on the cruise ship. You exchange gifts with other cruisers throughout the week. The fish extender is placed outside your stateroom door as a way to collect your gifts. All ages can participate. You can choose to give out your gifts on one specific day, or every day throughout the week; whatever works best for your family. If you choose to participate, you will get a list of ten other cabins/families. Depending on how many participants in each family is the number of gifts you'll have to give. It's really a fun way to get to know other cruisers and receive some fun goodies along the way! If you'd like to be added to the list, just email or PM me your stateroom number, names and ages of all participants, as well as any special requests (allergies, favorite disney characters, etc.) or celebrations.

Our 3rd as well. We've done the Dream twice so hoping we'll feel like home on the Fantasy. I've never felt overcrowded on the Dream, except at some of the deck parties. But we're not into crowds so we avoid them anyway...

And the Aqua Duck is fun. Watch youtube videos of it to prep. It's a blast. I can't wait to try to Aqua Lab splash area. Should be fun!!!

Hi all! We'll be sailing as well - can't wait! Myself, DH, and DS (8). We've done one DCL (3 days on the Dream) and many other cruiseson other lines. So excited!!! Not sure about the FE for this one - we did it last time, and I ended up a little overwhelmed doing gifts for 35 people!

Good day! I am interested in joining the FE group and have e-mailed our information. This will be my 14th Disney cruise and I have been on the Fantasy a few times. If anyone has questions, feel free to ask and I'll do my best to reply. As far as character breakfasts, they have not been offered on my previous cruises on the Fantasy. I've only seen them on the Magic and the Wonder. (I have not sailed on the Dream). And most recently (Sept 2014) the Magic was not going to offer one but so many of the guests complained that they ended up have one with tickets, first come first served.

For those of you who voiced concerns about the larger ship, those who have sailed previously on the Wonder and or Magic, the Fantasy is quite a bit larger but what they lose in small and friendly, they make up for in the amazing adult pool area (it's HUGE) and you are certain to find the entertainment, esp the Disney presentations, fantastic - they rate right up there with Dreams on the smaller ships. We have also found the character interactions even more magical on the Fantasy...don't know why? Mickey is Mickey no matter where he is, right? Anyway, the Fantasy is stunningly beautiful and you will have an amazing time! (Truly, I do like the Wonder just a tiny bit better but am happy on any Disney cruise ship!)
