Fantasy - July 14, 2012

40 was crazy, I shipped my gifts to the ship. I'm happy this is a smaller group. I won't do one that big again. Four to six weeks is a good cut off I think.

Yikes!!! :scared1: 40, I would hope that would be split into 4 groups, but at least 2!!

I would like 6 weeks if possible. June is crazy with the kids out of school and summer swim league and dance recitals, it is nuts here--perfect timing for a July cruise :cool1:

Do FE lists and the meets get larger as the cruise gets closer? For me, planning is half the fun so I am not sure I could book a cruise with 2 weeks to go (although if it was a good deal I suppose I could suffer through it :rolleyes1).

linkandclover, I sent you a pm with the rest of our information.

After looking at all of the homemade FE gifts I am now getting motivated to give something a try.

You can do it!!! Last year I made magnets for everyone, super easy and personalized for all.

Not sure what to do for the kids, maybe some local candy. Does anyone have any allergies we need to be aware of?

The FE group may get a little bigger but this has been a pretty quiet board. The year we had 40, there were 30 FE participants until about 2 months prior to the cruise.

June is crazy for us too. DH is a teacher and he also coordinates the academic summer school for the Madison school district. He's already starting up with summer school stuff. The week after school we hardly see him. Things settle down for him after the 1st week of summer school. Then it gets busy when summer school ends. July is the sweet spot for cruises. :)

Looks like Noah is doing summer lacrosse this year with a tournament in Michigan the weekend before we leave for Florida, I may pass on that tournament.

We have no allergies here. I was thinking of doing movie candy for the 10 and over boys (which is I think all of them). I am not really aware of any local candy here...

I would also pass on the tournament. In my happy head right now I would be like "I will be packed and ready to go weeks before then", but in reality I will be running around like a chicken with my head cut off the weekend before we go:dance3:.

No allergies if it comes to candy.

I agree with 6 weeks as the cut off. I figure a lot of this is going to be wait and see in terms of what happens this next month. June is quiet for me with the kids as gymnastics competition will be over. The only problem is that I am going to be absolutely swamped in the fall so I am trying to get as much done as possible (we have a huge Halloween party in October and my son's Bar Mitzvah in December)

When I complain about being hot during the cruise, remind me of how cold I was in April! I am just freezing! We turned the furnace on again  There is a freeze warning tonight and since the apple trees are blooming could mean no apples this fall. The apple orchards have been trying to keep the trees warm with fires but now we have a burning ban because it's so dry.

Don't worry I will be the one complaining that it is too cold with the air conditioning.

I just read a thread about an FE someone made. They are cute, someone posted that their FE group had 100 cabins :scared1: How in the heck can you possibly have 100 cabins in an FE exchange? I can't even imagine...

I cannot believe that they did not break this up in to several groups. Packing 100 gifts and then bringing more than that home is completely out of control. I would have to withdraw if the FE was that big and no one wanted to divide it up.

While I would love getting 100 gifts :rolleyes1, I would hate to make and take 100 :scared1:. That is just nuts. Makes me glad for our happy small family.

As for the heat, I am already boiling and it is only 85 here. I refuse to put on the ac before May, after all I have some spending to do in July...

Thank you also for the FE update. It's amazing how similar the ages are for the children. My stateroom update won't be until a couple of weeks before the cruise because of GTY status. In fact I might have to post it here when I am in WDW. Luckily the resorts have set up free wifi now.

Family names are Glen, Lori-Ann, and our son Alan.

We had a GTY on our New Year's Cruise and found out our room about two weeks in advance. We might try to upgrade at the port, but likely won't. Someone on a previous cruise suggested that if you change rooms, or if in your case you don't know, leave everyone a voicemail when you get onboard.

If you need a summary the are 8 dh, 8 dw, 7 ds, and 5 dd. All of the kids are 12 and older. Now that I broke it down I probably have FE gifts for my next 10 cruises.

Thank you for organizing this and the break down. Usually the kids are so young. Could someone please remind me of the FB page? My DD expressed an interest in joining. Thank you.

No allergies here either. We are super excited and ready to cruise. We are actually heading down early and will spend a few days at the Boardwalk before and then a few days at animal kingdom.

Me (Kristie) dh (Woody) and ds (Peyton)

We have no allergies and apologize for being away for a bit (okay a long while :) ). Health concerns that are improving and we are excited about the cruise!

DisneySunflower has been added to the FE list. I will formally repost ( or at least try to over the weekend) all of the information so that it is up to date. For those wanting the breakdown we now have 9 families, 7 boys 12 and over , 1 boy under 12 and 6 girls 12 and over and 1 under 12.

Thank you for the break down link. Did you get my pm with all our information? Thought I would check before you did all the updating.
