Fantasy - July 14, 2012

Just booked Palo and excursions, with plenty availability for everything. Just curios if anyone has ever done the Rhino Rider? Do you get to ride around on the inflatable jet ski a lot, or just a straight shot from point A to point B? Has anyone done horseback riding on their own in St. Maarten? The write-ups on a different board are questionable. Is there anyone who has done the Sea Trek at either port? I tend to be a bit claustrophobic and am afraid of water. Not a good combination for such an activity, but don't want to let the rest of the family down. Any thoughts?

Well Cptjack, if you don't want to get claustrophobic just send your family and come hang out on the beach with us  The only thing I want to do is go to Maho beach to watch the planes. I am not sure why but it seems to call to me :confused3

As a first timer I am not sure how the delivery of the FE even goes? Are we all so excited we get all the presents the first day or are people pretty good at holding off?

It was in the 90's this weekend in San Antonio with us outside all weekend at Art Festivals and Highland Games so I am getting ready for the heat...

104 days!! Yippee!!!

Normally for the FE people will just leave items whenever they please which makes it fun to see what is waiting when you go back to your cabin. I will post an up to date list in the next day or so. It has been a very busy weekend so I have not had much time to be on my computer.:surfweb::surfweb:

Maho beach calls to me too. I will be checking out ways to get there after our hike, if there is time.

If you see an error or need to change something let me know. Captjackandcrew made a good suggestion about making sure to put your name and stateroom on the gift.

If you need a summary the are 8 dh, 8 dw, 7 ds, and 5 dd. All of the kids are 12 and older. Now that I broke it down I probably have FE gifts for my next 10 cruises.

Thanks for the FE list. Here are some updates for us.
DW (Kelli), DH (Bill), DS (Noah), room 10664

Thank you also for the FE update. It's amazing how similar the ages are for the children. My stateroom update won't be until a couple of weeks before the cruise because of GTY status. In fact I might have to post it here when I am in WDW. Luckily the resorts have set up free wifi now.

Family names are Glen, Lori-Ann, and our son Alan.

:cool1::sail:100 DAYS!!:cool1::sail:100 DAYS!!!:cool1::sail:

That went fast!! One of my first posts was touting the 500 day mark :scared1:

We leave in 98 days to drive down!!! Tomorrow night I get to stay up late to book stuff for our 2nd cruise - Remy and an excursion in Costa Maya. :cool1:

Okay Noahsmom,

Now that I see we are practically neighbors, there may be some stow-a-way action on my part for your second part of the cruise. I am sure that big under the bed space could be put to good use!!!! :cool1: Just don't tell my family where I am...

2nd cruise complete! We have Remy reservations for our anniversary :cool1:
I was thinking this morning about the last breakfast of our cruise together. We don't like how early it is but we prefer main seating for dinner. Well heck, this time it won't much matter! We just get dressed go down for breakfast and back to our room to shower and get ready for our brief stay in the terminal. :)

Today I'm going to start working on our FE gifts. All the materials arrived this week so I can begin creating...

I am a little jealous of your B2B. It is something we always talk about trying. I offered it to the family this time. I figured cancel the week in WDW and do a B2B. I figured I would also cancel our Christmas trip on the Fantasy so not to repeat the WC itinerary. DS and DW looked at me like I was an alien. I guess they are no fool! Why have a B2B when you can get 2 separate trips out of it!

A few years ago we were on the Magic and heard a family talking about being on the 2nd part of a back to back. Up to that point I'd only heard of b2b for 3 & 4 night cruises. I was very envious and DH & I both thought that would be an amazing trip. So when our 25th coincided with a new ship - well it seemed destined.

I'm so excited about my FE gift! Noah thinks it's my best one yet. Hope you all like them.

I am looking forward to seeing the gifts. I wish I had the time to make something but life is too hectic so I am just putting together a package of things I have found that I thought would be fun or useful. I hope people like them.

Noahsmom I am so glad you decided to join the FE--you have got me excited!!! I was wondering when we close the FE. I haven't ordered what I need yet as I am not sure how many people are in the final count. Are there usually a lot of people that join close to the date?

So crazy now that we are in the double digits...I better start figuring some things out!!!!

I am not sure when to close the FE. I know final payments are due at 90 days before sailing so I would like to wait until then. I am not sure what others want to do with this. I don't want to wait until too late because that could create problems with planning for people. I could make the cut off at May 1. What do others think?

I've done 2 other FE's. The 1st one had over 40 cabins participating - yes 40 :sad2: It was way too big. People added almost to the sail date. I think it was finally closed 2 weeks prior to sailing. Last year wasn't as big, about 20 cabins and it closed a month prior to sailing. A month was much better than 2 weeks. We did turn some away but it's hard when people add so close to departure.

For what I'm doing I had to order a lot, I will do them as Christmas gifts for my team at work. How's that for planning ahead :cool1:

I have done 2 others as well. The first they divided in to 2 groups so that it was not so overwhelming. 40 cabins would require bringing an entire extra suitcase. I did a second one where they closed the date quite early and I started a new group that was for late comers. I think they closed at 4 months before the cruise which was really unfair since people sometimes do not finalize their decision until payment is required.

I will see what others have to say as I think 2 weeks before the cruise is not enough time. 6 weeks or a month is ok by me.
