Fantasy - July 14, 2012

Yes it has been quiet here. I just received some of my FE gifts and now I just have to put everything together. Final payments are coming up soon as well. I received a card in the mail offering discounts on Disney hotels so I booked the Caribbean Beach Resort where we stayed last year. They have a great pool for the kids although you have to walk a lot to get around. My kids liked the idea that we could rent boats and bikes at the hotel so they chose to go back again. Still not sure if we are going to go to any of the parks.

Looks like a lot of us will experience some WDW resort magic pre-cruise.

Just realized packing should be interesting this time. I have got to balance my bumming around the parks outfits with my cruise casual attire with a little bit of extra room for Palo/formal wear.

The current FE count is:
6 parties with a total of 21 people.

Noah's Mom I have not included you. Please PM me if you want to be on the list. I will do 2 or 3 days and will let others choose what they want to do. If the list gets bigger I may change my mind but for now it is still small.:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Hello, I was curious if we are on the FE list. Thank you.

Anyone staying up with me tonight to do some booking?! I'm hoping to get a Palo brunch and dinner on this cruise. :cool1:

I still haven't paid and I have no idea what the family wants to do for excursions. I mat stay up if I can get all of this and work taken care of.:surfweb:

You have got company. Excursions are picked out and I'll be racing you for brunch. Good luck to us both.

with 3 sea days brunch shouldn't be too difficult. What day are you going?

All done for this week! Got everything we wanted, which really wasn't much. Booked Palo brunch and dinner, teen adventure for Noah in St. Thomas, and floats at CC. Now I'm off to bed!

Us little ol' first timers still have a month. Booooo!!! Have fun you old timers. Let us know what you book so we know what we are suppose to be trying for. Do you have your check in time already?

Sorry didn't get back on the boards until this morning. We chose brunch on sea day 2 at 1130. You were right about availability, every spot was still open. When is your brunch?

For excursions we are trying the mountain hike on SM and the eco hike on SJ. Alan is also signed up for the teen excursion on CC.

As Noahsmom pointed out to me, 3 sea days will increase your odds for ship activities. Also since I was able to sign up late using a GTY, I don't think that this is a full ship yet. Anyway, best of luck! Get addicted like we did, you'll be gold in no time!

We have Palo brunch at 11:00 on the 15th, Palo dinner at 5:00 on the 18th. For St. Maartin we booked our own excursion, Captain Alan snorkel adventure. In St Thomas Noah is signed up for the Screaming Eagle while Bill & I just explore on our own. Last time in St Thomas Noah was sick, Bill went golfing while I stayed in the cabin with a boy who just wanted to stay in bed.

Our port arrival time is 11:00. I thought it was interesting this morning when I was completing our cruise docks that they are well prepared for back to back cruisers. They ask what you are doing after the cruise and Disney cruise was in the drop down option. When I selected that it prefilled Fantasy!

The only thing I noticed last night that was no longer available are the cabanas at CC. It really does amaze me how popular those are. :confused3

Even though we have cruised often, we've done very little snorkeling. I've offered it to them several times but we usually go with something else. DW claims she will do a lot of snorkeling in CC this year. She wants to get used to it in a closed environment.

Check in time will be less important to those of us staying in WDW pre-cruise and using transfers. We just have to wait until the bus gets us there. Anyone using private transport from the resort?

By the way I don't get the Cabana fascination either! Give me one, and that would be a different story!

We have used private transportation in the past. We are driving this year. For our family of 3 it's been either cheaper or a wash to use a town car service over the Disney bus. Bonus of a town car is the grocery stop on the way to port to pick up any last minute items (including adult beverages).

We bought snorkeling gear last fall after swimming with the sting rays. We took it with us when we went to Mexico over winter break and all they did was collect dust. I will probably bring them again and see if we use them this time.

We will be taking the transfer from the hotel. I love the ease of not having to worry about the luggage.

I don't get the cabana thing either. There are plenty of chairs etc. on the beach and it has never been a problem finding something.

I am surprised by how many rooms are still available on our cruise. I thought of upgrading because there were so many options available but decided to see if Disney will magically do it for free. I wonder why this is such a quiet cruise.

Booked CC watercraft/ jet ski adventure as this is all my family was even remotely interested in. We will probably rent bikes there as well but my experience is that you can do that when you go ashore so I won't do it ahead of time in case people change their mind. My oldest wishes they would let him use his skateboard on CC but they aren't too pleased with the idea and it clearly says no skateboards on the cruise documents.

linkandclover, did you get my PM? We've decided to join the FE.

I did not get your PM (not sure why not). I put you family down but do not have your cabin number. If you know it please post it.

By the way we now have 8 families participating with a total of 28 people. Let me know if everyone wants to take a day or 2 or leave it up as a surprise.

I like leaving it as a surprise. In February, it was really fun walking back to our room and wondering if we would have a surprise waiting for us.

Sorry if I can't find it, but can you post FE participants in a post with a summary of ages. DW has been asking a lot of questions in order to get supplies.
