Fantasy February 16, 2013 - 7 Night Western Cruise Meet

Awww, that was my neighbor (we're in 6690). I hope you have a fabulous time in the Mediterranean! That's on my list of must-do cruises.

Sorry...We are all a little bummed to not be going on the Fantasy (yet), I'm sure you all will have a wonderful time! We will be booking on the Fantasy for our cruise following the Mediterranean, so maybe we will get to be neighbors then!
Happy sailing! :thumbsup2

I did a little research and it appears JetBlue, unlike SWA, doesn't actively provide expected schedule opening date information. Instead they recommend joining their TrueBlue program so you will receive an email on the day the schedule opens, or you can skip joining and just follow them on Facebook or Twitter (@jetblue).

I found this thread will a history of when they actually do extend their schedule: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/jetb...ed-30-april-2012-released-17-july-2011-a.html

I like how SWA does it -- they always list an expected date on their Travel Tools page.

Thanks
per SWA site "June 4, 2012, we will open our schedule for sale through January 4, 2013."

Hi everyone, Just looked into booking this cruise today. In April 2011, we went on a four day dream cruise and we all agreed- 4 days isnt enough. I am thinking of February this time around so it won't conflict with my kids sports schedule so much. I am worried about the weather, anyone cruised in February before? Is it usually warm enough to swim?

We have done 3 cruises during Presidents week. On one of our DCL Magic cruises it was quite cool on our sea day heading to Castaway Cay. All the other days were beautiful in the low 80's.
I am not sure if we were just lucky or if is like that all the time!

We usually cruise in Jan/Feb and have never been disappointed in the weather. It's not hot like in April or later, but it's still around 80 degrees. The water is usually cooler, especially in the Bahamas, but it's still warmer than in the Northeast in the middle of summer :beach:.

This year we cruised the week after President's week and it was beautiful!

Spent five weeks in and out of Guantanamo during January-February when I was in the Navy, was still shirtsleeve weather on the midwatch, and managed to get in some snorkeling as well - more than warm enough.

Ok, everyone convinced me not too worry about the weather. I just booked this morning. I got room 10120, I didn't expect to get a verandha so I am excited! I would like to join the FE group if possible.

Welcome aboard!! :cool1:

How many are in your party, how many boys/girls and ages? I am keeping a master list in excel and silmarg is keeping it on the boards.

It is myself, DH, DD 17, DS 15, and DD 10. we are in stateroom 10120. Has anyone cruise the western Caribbean before? I am looking for some advise on excursions or anything else to do while at the ports.

We did some of the ports in 99 out of Tampa on Carnival.. It was DW and I solo so we were able to go to Sting Ray City in Grand Cayman. We booked an excursion not through Carnival paid a ton less there were a ton less people and spent more time in the water and with the Sting Rays

We have the kids with us this time so will not be going back to him but would in a heartbeat

We've cruised the Western Carib a bunch of times. In Grand Cayman, we have booked a few times with Nativeway. The last time we did the Stingray and Island tour which included the turtle farm. Seven Mile beach is also very nice and one year we took my parents and 3 older kids there and went parasailing.

Have only been to Costa Maya once about 6 years ago and we went to the beach. I didn't think the vendors there were any worse than anywhere else. We went jet skiing there as well.

Have been to Cozumel many times and are going there on a short cruise in November (just DH and I). We swam with the dolphins at Chankanaab Park (and did the encounter there on another tour). This is a really nice park/beach. We booked this on our own. We've also been to Paradise Beach which is very nice too. I have heard some good things about the all-inclusive Nachi Cocom which we might try in November.
