Fantasy February 16, 2013 - 7 Night Western Cruise Meet

That kinda bums me out about the cabana, but here's hoping maybe we get lucky. Either way, I am excited about Castaway Cay! I'm excited about everything on the ship! Heck, I'm even excited for the drive down to Florida (and coming from NY, it's a long drive. :woohoo:) Has anyone ever had experience with leaving a youngin' in the nursery? Is it safe? Do they keep the little ones entertained?

We're so excited to be going on this cruise. It's 4 of us DH, DW, and 2 DS 2 and 10. We're REALLY hoping to get a cabana on Family Beach! This is our first cruise ever so we're not allowed to book anything until 12/3/2012. If I stay up until midnight on that night does anyone know my chances of getting a cabana? Are there waiting lists? Has anyone had luck with cancelations? I've seen the videos and pictures of these on the internet and I'm in LOVE! And does anyone know how far out from the beach does it stay shallow on castaway cay?

Welcome! Myself, DH, and DD (8) are going to be first time cruisers on this trip too...also from NY!:goodvibes

Welcome to the cruise!

I'm certain what applies to the kids clubs applies to the nursery -- absolutely safe and absolutely entertaining. The counselors do an outstanding job.

We were on the Magic in 07 and our daughter was 8 mons old at first we were hesitant but glad we did the staff was amazing.. They (Cast Members in the nursery) were sad when her time was up and one of them left a note at the stateroom saying how much a joy she was and asked us to bring her back that night we did and when we looked at our bill (nursery you have to pay for) we noticed that we weren't charged for half the time she was there.. Prob was an error but I like to think it was a little pixie dust

Welcome! I'll also have a DS who'll be 10 when we go. With the dept of the water in the Castaway Cay, I think it depends where on the beach you are and the time of day. At the family beach I think we were able to wade out quite a bit before the water became deep.

Hi SmittycaIt! :welcome: aboard! And congrats on booking your first cruise. You picked a great group of people to sail with! :lmao: as far as the cabanas go, I'm afraid to tell you that the chances are not very good that you will get one. There aren't very many of them and they go FAST! I believe you can ask to be put on a waiting list, but I'm not 100% positive on that. The cabanas aren't too far from the beach and the water isn't very deep. You have to go pretty far into the water to get depth. I can tell you this, though...even if you don't get a cabana your time on Castaway Cay will be GREAT! It is a BEAUTIFUL island and there's so much to do while you're there.

Luckymomoftwo also neglected to tell you that she will be snagging 2 of them for herself!!!:sad2:

Glad to have you back, Terrie! Woo hoo! Slowly moving closer...

BTW, I love the pic of your golden. We have a golden, too...he'll be 4 next week. My daughter named him Marley before all the notoriety that came with the name...he has lived up to the reputation of a Marley! :rotfl2: But we love him anyway! :lovestruc

Good morning everyone!!!! We are super excited today!!! We woke up at 6:00 am to call Disney to reserve an Illuminations Cruise AND a Wishes Cruise for October 10th. We got them both!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: We've done the Wishes cruise and it's FANTASTIC! But we've got family going with us and we're not sure which fireworks cruise they'll want to do. So as soon as we finalize that, we'll be canceling whichever one we won't use. We will be there in October to celebrate my DS's golden birthday on October 13th. As of right now, that trip and this cruise are our only Disney vacations planned. I could really use a Disney trip now though! (who couldn't, right?) :lmao:

Have another cabin for the fish exchange. My friend is traveling with her DS who will be 10 when he cruise. They will be in room 7192. Is there an updated list for the fish exchange so far? I am going to try and get some of my gifts done and put away.

silmarg has been keeping an updated list on the boards here.

I also am an excel freak (I use it all day at work) so I have been keeping an update list with names, rooms, adult and child count and boy, girl count. I can email to anyone that is interested.

Hello fellow cruisers.:wave2:
Just got back a couple of weeks ago the from the Fantasy Maiden Voyage. The Fantasy was so awesome.

Here's a link to a trip report from user "wickesy" on the MV with lots of pictures (including the daily Navigators). Days 3 thru Day 10 are of the MV. They also posted pictures of some of the FE gifts as well.
