Fantasy February 16, 2013 - 7 Night Western Cruise Meet

CALLING ALL PINK CHAMPAGNE GIRLS!!!!

We have 21 participants so far, (8 are men) we only need four more! If you are interested please read details below.

Hello fellow Fantasy Cruisers! :wave2: As I mentioned earlier in this thread I am heading up a Pink Champagne Girls meet for our cruise. The first Pink Champagne Girls meet on the Fantasy Maiden voyage was held in Ooh La La and we all had a blast.

I will need to give DCL will need the name and stateroom number of each participant and they charge $20 to each person's room on the list for the champagne tasting which is normally $25. We requested an afternoon on the first sea day. I won't get the final details on the request until about 2 weeks before we cruise. DCL group events has been keeping in touch with me and I will share info as we go.

We had a ton of fun on our previous Fantasy Cruise during the Pink Champagne Girls meet. Previous PCG meets organized by fellow DISers have been limited to ladies princess: only but I open mine up to the men :groom: as well. But the men must also abide by "the rules" :p

The rules are: Everyone brings their own pink shirt or blouse to wear to the meet. Everyone must also wear a tiara and feather boa during the tasting. I will provide the feather boa and tiara which you get to keep :thumbsup2

If you wish to participate, please send me PM here on the Disboards or e-mail FantasyFeb16@gmail.com I will need the name of each participant and their stateroom number for DCL. If you are on the Facebook group for this cruise you can message me there. No matter how you try to reach me I will confirm you are on the list. If I do not send a confirmation response, it means I did not receive the request so stalking me for a confirmation is perfectly ok :thumbsup2

I will also try to organize a group picture (like below) with Shutters and the character manager. No guarantee we get a character in the picture with us, but sometimes the timing works out. I will spring for the sitting fee so all everyone needs to do after our PCG meet for the picture is smile and say Fizzy, Sparkly or Bubbly! :bitelip:

Here is a picture of most of the Pink Champagne Girls group from the Fantasy Maiden Voyage.

Cruise docs are here! :cool1: Very exciting! My 9 year old sat and read the whole thing cover to cover with me! Yes, this is the same child who declared that she needed to start reading her Birnbaum's Disney Cruise book, so that she would know how to have an awesome time, when she got the book Christmas morning! :rotfl2:

Got our docs today! This is really happening now. I started pulling out shorts, etc while doing laundry this weekend. Now we just need to make sure the kids have all the clothes they need.

We got our cruise docs today, too!!! :yay: Happy Dance!

I tried to log on to confirm a few things on the DCL site, but it's all goofy! And not in a good way. It kept making me log in over & over, and then wouldn't let me open any of our daily activities. Argh! No biggie, I just wanted to confirm our adult dining times. It (the written cruise docs) just lists me, all by myself, at a table for 6 in Palo & Remy...not the rest of our party.

OOooooh, for anyone who's interested, i just cancelled a table for 3 (or 4) at REMY for dinner on the second night--2/17 at 7:30 p.m.

We got our docs today too! DS still doesn't have a clue, although I don't know how. He was sitting right next to me as I looked through our docs and caught me online looking at things for the cruise:confused3. Planning our surprise.

We received our cruise docs and WDW docs yesterday! Yay!!!
Too bad I booked our excursions last week :( so they are not listed on our docs.
I also received our disney stuff from Disney store. Super excited!

We got our cruise docs yesterday too!!! Woo hoo! Sadly we got the call today that the auto train home got canceled due to track work. Ugh! Yea! Amtrak! Good thing we're taking the auto train there so we can drive home. Jeesh!

Yeah my bad. I was in a "my plan isn't going perfectly" rage...I'm ok now. It's actually the return one that got canceled. I talked to someone from Amtrak says that some private company in Florida is putting in a new train in relation to those tracks...and that dependent on what that company does, it may actually effect the 2/15 auto train too. I just don't feel comfortable with that answer...so we've decided to drive down and back. Better to do that than to find out a day or two before that the 2/15 auto train down was canceled too. Anyone from Upstate NY have experience driving down? Do you drive straight thru or do you stop some place? If so where do you stop?

Did they give you an idea when a decision on the 2/15 train will be made... this will really screw :headache: with our plans as the kids and I were taking the train and picking my wife up at MCO then driving back but that would be with 2 drivers..
plan P at this point would add about 3.5k to this whole trip.. plan d I don't know if my wife will like me driving all the way down with the kids.. I just emailed Amtrak to see if they will give me an answer
:headache::headache::headache::headache::headache::headache:

No they couldn't give me an idea. They said it's all dependent on that train company in Florida. My significant others doesn't fly so the original plan was to drive anyway. Last time we drove down to Florida I had a hard time staying awake once we hit VA. But I was pregnant at the time so I couldn't drink caffine. This time I won't be with child, so I'll be making dunkin donuts and Starbucks very rich on the way down. We are going to stay over night somewhere....just not sure where yet. I want to get an idea as to where people stay on the way down. I am bummed about the train b/c I sleep like a baby on trains...not so much in cars. Let me know what Amtrak tells you...just curious.

We are from the western centeral part of Mass - we have driven several times both to and from - we usually push the first day on the way back and stay in VA (Celebrate Virginia - outside Fredericksburg) - that way the next days drive is only about 8hrs. -we are flying down but driving back. -also consider the time getting off the ship - we are figuring we won't be on the road till at the EARLIEST 8:30. The hotels is about 12/13 hrs away with no stops. :drive: -

We also rented a suv for the way back - oneway unlimted miles - $180 we pick it up at port canavel and then dropping it of at BDL -

Have received a response from Amtrak but it was about south of Sanford so waiting on clarification
I will copy and paste later from my pc

We are just north on NYC and have driven a few times. We do it in one shot down and stop (usually somewhere between Rocky Mount, NC and Fredricksburg, VA) on the way back.

The key to driving non stop down IMO is to be clear of the NY to DC corridor during any semblance of rush hour (to avoid traffic) and to arrive in FL while its still daylight (as its real difficult driving in the dark if you are tired). So we have left at 7PM once but mostly start at the Midnite-2AM time frame. So to make it work, I go to bed at 7PM (w the truck already packed).. up at midnight (wash face and out the door). I usually let DW drive North Carolina... and I do the rest.

Yeah the more I think about it...it may make sense to just push it and do the whole way down in one shot, and then do something similar to what you guys do on the way back. And really, I'm gonna be WWAAAAYYY too excited to sleep, probably. :cool1:
