Planned on wearing it on embarkation day. Oh and a minnie tumbler and mikey tumbler to carry drinks around! Saved as much as i spent, almost ordered a dooney but decided to wait for the cruise..

You are luckyyyyy! Two cruises in one year! They did not by any chance show you how 'open' our cruise is did they? I know bookings will pick up with the publicity with the reveal and opening cruises...but so hope for some specials :) Did your 2 year old go on the Dream? Did he love it? My kids are wishing they were his age to enjoy all the younger rooms! :) Sometimes they allow the tweeners to visit Vibe, my kids would actually prefer to have the young room to themselves for an hour! :)

Put you on the roster!!

Thanks for the warm welcome Tara! We do consider ourselves very VERY lucky to be able to cruise 2-3 times per year. This year, DH and I had discussed doing only 1, but you see how that turned out! :rotfl2:
They did not mention to us how open the ship is... we actually almost missed the guy on debarkation day and only caught him because a coworker stopped to speak to him! :scared1: It was a quickie booking! Thank GOD we caught him! There is a website called "cruise fish dot net" that does list availability of room category bookings if that helps
Our DS did go on Dream and LOVED it! That was the main reason we booked for this year on Fantasy! The only down side was he is still too young right now for the main kids club, so we had to pay for him in the nursery. He liked it, but I can not wait for September when he can be in the big main kids club for free! We were able to take him in there during open house times and he thought it was a blast!
I would like to participate in the FE exchange as well as the facebook site! I was extremely disappointed that my Dream roll call was dead.... glad to see this one is very active!!!

That website is pretty cool! I will try to keep checking it for our dates and keep you guys updated! :)

Yes! I am trying to keep track of FE participants on page one...if you would like to do it, just let me know...I can put you down for the three in your cabin...I apologize to everyone if I get behind, some weeks I can get to disboards frequently, and other weeks the month just flies by before I realize I have not checked in :) That is very exciting to have him enjoy the fun rooms for little guys! :)

Ok Tara, one more time..I know I keep asking this---Can you explain in detail about FE?? I just want to be prepared with what to do! Thanks
Cannot explain how exciting it's getting being 6 mos away!

I have a question about FE.. I am NOT someone who can make things I mean Im horrible! Can you buy little things? Wondered about souveniers from here in Charleston..

Do you get matched up with another family to do FE with?

Bluejasmine, I am so there with you!! I am not crafty at all, it's actually pathetic...I wish I were, but it wasn't meant to be..LOL Hoping the same thing you are..!!!

Here is the best explanation I can give!

It does not matter what or how much you give, it's just a celebration of all of us taking time out of our busy schedules to make these vacations a bit more 'pixie dusted'....some people are phenomenal at making things (not me, we actually tried last time, made these really cute washer necklaces with Cruising Disney characters on them, spent days letting layers dry...put them all in a baggie, the diamond coat on it was not 100% dry and they all stuck to each other...broke my heart! I sat on deck separating those things trying to salvage a few...so lesson is, don't FRET!) We received all kinds of 'gifts'...from a post card from the giver's home state, a sample of candy from their locale, hand sewn tissue holders (we still use these today!), glo bracelets (you can get these for 10 for a dollar..they are fun for the kids to wear on pirate night.), key chains, highlighters (these are really useful for highlighting the Navigator for events you may not want to miss)...one lady even painted small canvas squares of Disney scenes! Some are really talented!

I will do my best to help organize it, but it can get crazy! I'll post lists on FB or on private message them here...once everyone has their stateroom (sometimes this can change..no biggie we just get the word out on the ship) we complete a list...on our Med cruise only about 18 families participated so it was a good size...but on our March cruise there were about 60 families, so we split them up into 3 groups of 3....you just bring something to put in their pockets...

You can give a family goody pack, or separate it out by participant...my husband and I don't really participate..we just put pockets out for our three kids...every day we'd return to our room and they'd have a surprise waiting for them! We arranged days we would deliver them so they wouldn't all happen on one day. Little tubes of sunscreen are great to deliver the day before a port day! :) Some families will have one pocket for the husband/wife and one each for the kids..we just try to have something to put in each 'pocket'...for adults we might make a CD of cruise songs or give them a moonpie (something relative to our state)...you need to think of things that won't take up much space...

For the kids I found a bunch of those japanese erasers that were really popular and silly bands...those things are small and tiny and easy to pack...a small beach survival bag (bandaid, sunscreen, lip balm) things like that are fun and helpful! There is a thread of all kinds of amazing homemade items (personalized bookmarks, photo frames, etc.) on the main dis cruise threads...I am in awe of all the crafters!!

I would not want more than 20 rooms, it can take a good hour or two to deliver all those things! :) But, that is the fun part, you really get to explore the ship and check out decks you might like to rebook on :woohoo:

The biggest thing is do not think you have to spend a lot of money! Just little things to make it fun for the families..just a little extra special surprise for them! :) My kids loved an autograph book made out of paper bags! Some can get really creative! :)

So lets say there are 18 familys on our cruise doing FE you would give to all 18 families?

Sorry I have a head cold and all this Nyquil is making me slow! LOL

Yes! But, if we would like to cap it off at 10 or 15 that is fine, too..we have managed 20 on our last one and it worked out fine...It is as much fun giving as receiving! :)

First off... get well soon.

10 to 15 is a good number. You can concentrate on more personal gifts with smaller numbers. 18 is doable too. We still have time for more families to join in :cool1:
