With more info my advice to you would change to just go with deck 6 since it’s an accessible room that you need so my advice about stairs and club noise I think is moot! It's the acessible rooms, so only cabins below or above both decks 6 and 8, no theatre or kids clubs i dont think.
My husband would have to use the lifts most of the time anyway, as he can't walk very easily (often using his stick or mobility scooter).
We did deck 8 last time on the dream, but were just thinking if saving the money would be better, if there wasn't any major reasons not to go for deck 6.
I think you are confusing deck 5 with deck 6. The lifeboats are only in the way if you look straight down.Deck 8 definitely. Some people don’t mind it, but I think the lifeboats are a major obstruction to the view of the verandah on deck 6 midship of the dream and fantasy. We had it once and never again.
That's what I meant, you have to be looking down from the railing. If your sitting and enjoying the sea they are not visible. Guess I should have been more specific. We are always on 6 and have never considered them as obtrusive, but then we are sitting with a beverage.Nope, we were on deck 6–and they were clearly visible because they extend out from the lower edge the balcony so you see them in your lower half of the balcony view.

My husband and I are pretty tall so we still see it while sitting—it extends out and blocks the lower half of the view. We also like to stand at the rail to feel the sea breeze. My take is if you have to be angled in a certain way to avoid seeing an obstruction, it’s an obstruction. That's what I meant, you have to be looking down from the railing.
