Hi,
I have been on a Navigators balcony on the Disney Wonder and I was fine with this balcony.
Are they the same on Fantasy.
DVC guy said that they are different in size and view
Can my fellow dis'ers direct me to the good size view Navigators balcony on the Fantasy,.

6B apparently has a solid white wall.. Any better than others.

What are your experiences with these rooms.
Thanks:)
Kerri
Off topic very strange when I was trying to type this post every time I moved cursor would bring me to Dreams unlimited** very annoying if there is a glitch in system...grrr

Not familiar with the Navigators balcony on the Fantasy but I have stayed in a 6b. The whitewall only comes up to about shin height so it does not restrict your view while sitting at all.

I just did a google search for Disney Fantasy category 7a and it came up with a few pictures of the Navigator verandah. They do have a restricted view. I would go with the 6b over the 7a for myself.

The 'restricted view' that we had on the Fantasy 7A was a small triangle piece in the upper corner. Not a deterrent at all, and not noticeable. We did not have a whitewall. It will depend on what deck you are on, I think. We booked the 7a for our fall trip this year, too. (Deck 7 last time, Deck 8 this)

As others have noted, the navigator's verandah on the Fantasy/Dream is different than the navigator's verandahs on the Wonder/Magic. On the later they are basically enclosed with a large, open porthole. On the former they are a "regular" verandah with some obstruction due to the superstructure of the ship. Sometime the obstruction is quite minor, others there is a bit more obstruction.

Also, unlike the Magic class ships where the white wall on the verandah is the whole part underneath the railing, on the Dream class it's only about a foot high.

I'm just here to say, the Dreams glitch happens to a few of us. Please go to main page to technical forum and post that you have experienced it too? It's so annoying!

We have a 7a booked for our upcoming cruise. It all depends on what 7a you booked. We carefully selected and was able to get a good one. If it was just a GTY status I probably wouldn't go with a 7a. I haven't stayed in a 6b but I believe they have larger verandahs.

If you look at pics of the side of the ship you can see the obstructed ones and that some have more than others. Also a couple of them have super tiny balconys. I believe it is the ones on the back of he 5th deck - but I could be wrong.

I would echo, it would depend on which 7A you are choosing. I'd likely still gamble on the 7A if GTY status as *most* seem to get upgraded but it's just a gamble. There are a few that have the tiny pie shaped verandah and bench so I would avoid those if that's not your thing but otherwise I wouldn't hesitate to choose a 7A. I actually LOVE having a little extra privacy and they blockage in one of the corners is not bad at all, but that's my opinion :)

we booked 7a on the dream and were on deck 9 with a normal verandah...the navigators verandah on fantasy and dream is almost like a regular verandah so I would go with 7a... and who knows you might get upgraded to a regular one

I added a post to someones thread (technical board) about DCL glitch. Gotta tell you its annoying enough that I won't use them LOL.
Not that I would because I am a control freak who needs control of everything vacation related:rolleyes1

Amen! I cannot post a new thread from my phone as every time I go to enter a title, it automatically directs me there. And I've learned on a computer you have to go below the poll option to post. All it's doing is a) making me annoyed with the site and b) pushing DU even further down the list of any travel agency I would consider if I went that route. It reeks of desperation.

Regarding the 2 tiny aft facing 7a verandas on deck 5, (cabins 5188 and 5688) which could possibly be assigned in a "7a 'GT' or 'GTY' cabin assignment" situation, here is video/link showing these tiny verandas;

See post #7;

I will add these two little verandas have a great aft view though, fwiw. :) Which folks are known to pay for, and are coveted.
Also, just to be thorough, and clear, these two aft 7a cabins could be assigned to anyone with a GT/GTY cat 7 or below.
