I’m considering booking one of these guaranteed rooms on the fantasy. I’m a Disney cruise newbie so would love some opinions s on both options. Thank you!
Well, if you are booking GTY, there is a chance you might end up in a higher category either way. So...you're sort of putting the cart before the horse.
That said, if you are assigned the category you book GTY, with a 7A you're getting a Navigator's Verandah which means a slight obstruction along the top and side of the verandah where as with a 6A you're getting an unobstructed verandah. Again if you are assigned the GTY category.
I would not pay more than for an obstructed verandah. That's just me though. I sailed in one on my last cruise and booked another for my next cruise. The few hundred $$ difference pays for tips or a nice dinner or both.

Is it common that you get bumped up when booking GTY? There is $240 between 6A and 7A so I’m not sure it’s worth it. Is there a size difference between the two rooms/verandahs? Thanks again!

6A and 7A are the same size and right next to each other, it's just a difference of whether you have the cutout from the ship body obstructing your view or not.
It is hard to tell what the percentage is (largely because we on here are only a tiny portion of the DCL cruising population). In my 2 experiences with GTY I have been upgraded - once several categories and this upcoming cruise one category (as of now - it could theoretically still change between now and cruise date).
I don't think there is really a size difference between the two categories you are debating. The 6As do appear to be only in the aft portion of the ship while the 7As could be forward or aft. One thing to keep in mind...some of the the 7As on Deck 5 allow the cabins next to them with extended verandahs a view directly onto their verandah while the other two are on the extreme aft of the ship and the balcony is very, very small. But if you book GTY you have zero say over where it is, and you could be assigned to one of those - and unlike on RCCL where I've read reports that people call and complain about their assigned GTY staterooms and get them moved, on DCL you get what you get and you don't get upset - or you could get upset, but there is nothing you can really do about it as you accept that they can put you wherever in that category or better when you book GTY.
The issue is with a GTY you could well be placed in one of the 7As on Deck 5 where your neighbors can see into your balcony or you end up in one of the 2 at the very aft with the teeny triangular balcony. I can see booking 7A on a Dream Class ship when you can book one of the other decks, but not GTY.
