We've been on the Magic and Wonder so far, with a verandah and standard inside room. Loved the verandah, but the inside room was also fine. However we would prefer to have the split bath next time with a deluxe inside.

Our next cruise will be on the Fantasy and we are looking at cat 10a or 9a.

Pros and cons of either??

We've been in a 10A on the Dream (EDIT: We had an 11A). The bath was not split. But an inside room does have the virtual porthole.

A 9A will have a real porthole. And the split bath.

We had a 10a on the Fantasy. The Magical Porthole was nice, and we were in a great location on deck 9, but I still felt closed in without natural light coming in. When we got back, I upgraded our cabin on our next cruise to a 9a so I could have some natural light.

Are you sure you were in a 10a on the Dream? We were in a 10a on the Fantasy and had the split bath. The split bath was the main difference between the Cat 11 rooms and the 10a.

Did you like the 9a better? It's basically a $200 difference for us. My concern is the location of these rooms. We've always been midship.

I haven't been on the cruise where we will have the 9a stateroom yet so I can't say for sure. I too was concerned about location, especially since I didn't want to be aft. We felt a lot of vibration in the aft sections of the Fantasy when we were on it. We booked one that is forward.

We were on The Fantasy for our western cruise and had 5A on Level 10 and that was great too. Right below Cabana. Its nice to have a balcony. we would get brekkie from Cabana and go down to our room and sit on the balcony to eat and we are a family of 4. Was very nice on port days coming into port etc. The noise etc being below cabana wasnt too bad as well. i thought it may have been a problem but really it wasnt - we were right above cabana, very close to stairs and elevator.

We'd love a balcony again for sure! But we decided to use the cost difference for an excursion :)
